If we are being all technical the underground itself (what is considered the metro) has 11 lines. The Docklands Light Railway DLR, Overground and Elizabeth Lines are all managed by Transport for London but are not specifically tube trains.
Why are they getting out?
However, even so called underground trains go above ground when they leave Central London and that is almost half of their travel distance.
I put these lines in because for everyday people travelling around London, in practical terms they see them as underground and part of the same system.
The electric
For example, the Elizabeth Line is technically a railway and not an underground tube train which is why on the tube map it is shown with two thin lines rather than one thick one. However people access from Tottenham Court Road Station and other Central London stations underground like any other underground train.
Yes these lines do not have tube shapes for tunnels, but then neither do most District and Circle line tunnels.
What the hell is that?
So I felt that I needed to show this technicality, it is important and does matter!
However being too strict would mean that people around the world won't get to see and enjoy all of the amazing system we love so much.
Bank line
As well as because they are part of the integrated system of trains we use, I especially wanted to show the Elizabeth Line as it is so fantastic, the Dockland Light Railway as it is so much fun and the Overground because of its spacious and roomy airconditioned trains.
However I have not included the trams or cable car as even though they are maintained by TFL, as I thought that would be one step too far.
The "overground " isnt a tube line, its a national rail set of lines under tfl control. The DLR and Elizabeth line are also not tube lines.
I could be wrong and maybe I am, please do say your thoughts in the comments?
I went to jubilee line train before.

@Aqeel-i6ti think you're a bit stupid, overground and elizabeth line are national rail trains, not tube, and the dlr isnt even a train (sort of, it's light rail)
@thisis_mudchuteI love the Overground train In the tunnel
@LucyF-214:55 why is it Piccadilly
@Pasteldepizza709This video brings me back to my trip to London in 2023. I was only there for 3 days but I took like every line. Especially because it was the weekend in late August when aircontrol shut down the entire air traffic in England.
So my friend and I had to travel from London city airport to Heathrow to departure a day later. Spent a night in hounslow and go throught entire London with the picadilly line yet again.
In my opinion, I think it should be called every Tube line because the Overground, DLR, and Elizabeth line aren't really London Underground.
@96StockforlifeThe past 2 years I have spent my life on the northern line with all of its quirks and loudness. It holds such a special place in my heart. Youβd think after 4 years of living in London Iβd have gotten a chance to try out the Elizabeth line by now! Iβm probably not posh enough lol
@kates5sosparty354There are 11 lines
