So I have a confession...
That motor does not look like it falls into the 'Affordable' category. Probably cost a mint to ship it.
For the last, oh, year or so, I've been hoarding every single shred of wasted filament from my 3D prints. And in this video - the first of a series, we're going to try to build a practical, affordable filament recycling setup that allows anyone to turn wasted filament into a usable, beautiful and functional 3d printer filament.
Throughout this entire series, we're going to work on recycling 3d prints and 3d printer filament into new filament that we can actually use and 3d print with.... all for less than $1,500. So if that's something you're interested in, make sure to subscribe and hit the bell icon!
For the welding, you are tacking when you want to be pulling the rod. You just keep shoving it into the metal, expecting it to melt, but you're shorting it out. You want to strike the end of the rod like a match, then pull off the surface just ever so much as you start to make tiny swirls overlapping as you pull the rod down the line swarling over the line you want to seal. Also dont try to bridge the gap with the rod itself, wtf.😂

FYI, it is possible to convert single phase to 3-phase using various solutions. One of the simplest is two use a second 3-phase motor turned by a smaller single phase motor. You can also use phase converter devices and these range from simple to complex solutions.

My tip is buy a old used but working paper spreader aand make some files for a funnel and open it up and hookup your funnel to the intake and you can shred prints

Watch some welding you tube videos. Welders usually come with a material settings list that will get you in the ball park for the correct settings for the thickness of your material. Super important to use a small rod for thinner material. Just a little knowledge from a welder who welded professionally for 15 years.

I would probably 3d print a frame designed to be filled with concrete like Chris Borge makes his tools.

Those welds look terrible. Just because the metal is struck together doesn’t mean it’s adequate. Something can seem fine, but at any given time it could be a serious problem. It needs reinforcement as well. Then there’s another question. All plastics, even soft ones, are very abrasive. I use carbide tooling when working with them. While I wouldn’t expect that for a shredder, I would expect those grinders to be hardened steel, or they will round the edges and wear the entire thing to the point where the plastic will just jam an not actually shred. I’m curious as to has this has lasted I’ve the year since this video was uploaded. I haven’t seen anything about it in your more recent videos. I just found your channel a short time ago, when I subscribed.

Why do you guys always hate on Bambu printers? Is it because you spent thousands of dollars, while being ripped off by the other companies releasing the same printers over and over again ??? Sure spend that money, you all just look stupid.

You are so good looking and intelligent and you seem to have a heart, are compassionate, and really really cute, again! I appreciate you! Thank you!

Just new to all this but why can't you melt the filament, and use a syringe type extractor to form the filament? Just curious, is this not possible...like I said...new to all this..
@jenniferrose5805Triple phase is 3 hot legs and 240 is 2 legs all that phase converter is doing is splitting one of those hot legs and your standard 110 is just one hot leg
@derekmyers2248I have tons of motors, but I need projects to work on.
@warlock-h9jApparently we are many, many years away from truly affordable home filament recycling. Probably not something filament makers are anxious to see happen.
@gblanHave you tried sugercane crushing machine for pla crushing
@Akakakakak1-h5rMad respect, seriously. I have seen some of your other videos, but this one really drove it home for me just how real you are. I wish you all the best dude.
@TheBenjdudeשלום the next layer, אתה יודע איפה PCBway ממוקמים ?
@arik9824Can't say I've ever heard of 3 phase referred to as triple phase before.
@AdamT69You need to clean and prep your welding surface with acetone and make sure it’s completely dry, you also need to adjust your output settings as this will drastically change your welds and how they come out. Also you want to start with a flick and once you’re going you need to keep it about 1/4 inch away from your material and I like to do cursive E patterns but you can figure out what works best for you. Thanks for this informational video I really appreciate it
@brycepsiIt's not looting. It's Locating Out-of-use Object for Transfer.
@jarnModIf you could get your hands on a mig welder with gas of 75/25 argon mix it will make your life alot easier. No slag to knock off and can weld alot of different metal thicknesses with just messing with voltage over trying to have the right rods. Great video and channel! Don't let the uninformed get you down, what you are going through is terrible and then people act like youre the aggressor
@codyjames483414:56 This guy is now in Portugal, with a project called Project Kamp https://youtube.com/@projectkamp?si=8grN0q3MDOaq7apX
@AdrianoOliveira-ur9swM.I.G. welder, that's all!
@Bigninjonget a cheep mig would be easer for you even a flux core one would work but thereis plenty of you tube videos that show the correct way to stick weld it does taks some practise
@brockysthoughts1662אלוף אח!
@i2umeim not a looter im a weekend looter haha dont be afraid to bend ya electrode to help ya get at where ya wana weld or make it comfier
@sickswan61Basically demolishing native people’s homes for this video. Evil sick society.
@peterbeater012From my experience working as a farmer before, you might pick up a mig machine It is much easier to mig than rod welding, don't worry about the mig setting just adjust it until it sounds like bacon in the pan
@turmfalckeJust so you guys know, this dude reposts shit that says "call them Palestinians or parasites it makes no difference". I wonder what never again means to him.
@danileremeev6048Ima be hinest, if it cost more than the printer, or takes more effort than rebuilding one, t ant happening on the majority of printers.
@jalthiratruenooblord7770So are u separating your filament by type. Or just mixing it all?
@revodrvrCleaning a surface of grease and letting a good pool of heat gather with your welds can make them stronger, you can use the rod to guide the pool slowly and that pool can then be guided by walking the weld. If you aren't comfortable walking the weld then vertical down or downhill welding can give you a clean looking weld that's reasonably sturdy for that thickness of metal. Practice and experimentation can be rather rewarding.
@pottersdogoh, I recognise that Dave Hackins fellow - he now has a property (in portugal?) and a Youtube channel called 'Project Kamp'. They have used some recycled plastic products in some of their builds, so I guess he still has ties.
@FlowerBotWow sir. You are rich. If you want to send me some money please contact me
@skankhunt9078Respectfully, you answered your own "i wonder why" question when you mentioned the "real estate boom"...
@sgtsunburn117lose the stick welder and pick up a wire feed MIG welder, you will not regret it.
