Yangzhou goose is a breed of Taihu goose, Sichuan white goose and Wanxi white goose. It is purified and rejuvenated on the basis of conventional breeding. After repeated selection of multiple varieties and repeated determination of multi-combination hybrid combining ability, it has undergone 8 generations of conventional breeding of large groups and 4 generations of family breeding, and finally bred the first new meat goose variety in my country.

The body shape of the goose is A-shaped, with round body shape, white feathers all over the body, and occasionally individuals with a little gray-black feathers on the eyes or back; the head is medium-sized, with obvious skeletal, bridge yellow, symmetrical neck, beak, shank, and eyes light orange, and eyelids are light yellow.

Yangzhou goose grows fast in the early stage, tolerates rough feeding, has strong adaptability, delicious meat, high muscle protein content, fine fiber, rich fat, low water content, high slaughter of finished products, and good palatability. At 10 weeks of age, the body weight of males reaches about 3728g, and that of females reaches about 3518g. The breeding performance is good, and the age of first laying is 185-200 days. The average egg production during the laying period is 71.39 eggs, and the egg weight is 135-150g. The fertilization rate and hatching rate of the eggs are both above 90%. The conclusion of the measurement is that "the growth rate of Yangzhou pigeons has reached the advanced level at home and abroad, and the breeding rate has reached the world's advanced level."
