The cops fucked up big time, no doubt. But the new boyfriend should've been more proactive, seeing how the police r useless and the ex escalates with each unpunished offense. He looked like a pretty big guy, nothing wrong in meeting her ex in some dark alley and putting him through some old school "do not fucking ever touch my woman again" exercise :) The thing with abusers is that they r FUNDAMENTALLY cowards. One such meeting might just b enough to resolve the situation 4 good. It could actually b WAY more effective than ANY legal consequences. When the Law fails, u have to protect YOURSELF.

I was in an abusive situation nowhere near as bad as this and everything that Susan said: the police taking notes over and over as if it was a new case, ignore everything until it's too late. I am disgusted how they failed her and Jennifer. RIP Jennifer.
