A day trip to YORK, ENGLAND: things to do, places to eat!
Video Overview & Insights
Better late than never, we are finally IN YORK! This city is a big travel favourite to many visitors of the UK, and now I finally know why: its charmingly medieval cobblestoned centre, the impressive structure that is the York Minster, a whole catalogue of museums and galleries to peruse and of course tasty treats along the way!
My 2 boys were both Christened in the Minster.
Hop on the train with us and let's visit York, England's most dark academia coded city!

Side question: do you have track id's for the music in this video??? Good stuff

Good recommendations! We have time in our itinerary for either Cambridge or York, and you've made a good argument for York. On a weekday, of course!

Life saver. Me and my girlfriend visited Edinburgh couple of years ago for our anniversary and your videos were so helpful. Once again this video being a huge help for our plans for this year.
@jase1497Lincoln is a fabulous, smaller city, with a history as dense as York's. The Cathedral is breathtaking, and the Castle fascinating. Well worth a visit, and much less crowded than York can be.
@pammoore3447A real gem of York is Bootham, a road that goes all the way to Clifton Green. It starts just outside the city walls, beautiful walk with some beautiful architecture.
@rjflores438Very good one - keep going
@arkadiusziwanicki2252The shots are soooo beautiful! Which camera is that?
@camilaot4862Jorvik museum is great, York chocolate story is fab, a walk on the walls is a must, avoid the horse drawn carriage experience around estate in skipwith, rude owner and cancels at the last minute. 😂
@Life_in_Motion74Hi! We are planing a trip to England and Scotland in January. Do you suggest spending 1 days in York and 1 day in Glasgow or just 2 days in York? Thank you
@gabytrevisan15:06 How is that worthy of a blue plaque?
@SirHargreevesI went to York in 2018, It was nice to watch your video on York, if I go back I will definitely check out more museums & pick up a ghost souvenir:)
@rjdragonleaf305I'm planning a trip to York to celebrate my birthday during October! Hopefully the autumn vibe and the cosy clothing makes the experience more immersive and inspirational! :)
Although, I do fear that it may make the stay less appealing to me, hopefully not though!
There a good chance we may get to go here and needed to reference back 😊❤
@TheEmpressgothI have seen many vlogs of York and I can say yours is the best, what a quality of footages, I have been to york 3 times and next thursday we visit york for the 4 th time for 12 days and I want to make vlogs about York myself and you are an inspiration how to do it
I have so many footages that I can make many vlogs ,greetings from the netherlands ❤
Hello, thank you so much for this beautiful film. Would you say that York can be visited by walking or do we need a car? Thank you 🙏
@HELENA-ge2sxGreat video as usual, thank you :)
@badsionyWe can’t wait to visit York in September

@carloseduardogarciaarias4190I'm planning a week long trip to York in late spring/early summer 2026, I'm so excited. I want to see everything!!
@dinosaurxxxxGive me 100 pond every day I also work any where
@gouravbakshi295One of my favourite cities, said as a Lancastrian.
Where you from? Dane, Swede or Norwegian?
Love this, I am visiting this weekend, hopefully I’ll be able to get some great content like yourself 😊
@AdamCyrkunowiczThat was a bull a ko is when she had calf’s 😂👍🏻 but a good video anyway 👍🏻💐✨🤗
@MrYoddaIm going to Liverpool for a short midweek trip in a few months. I got one spare day in my itinerary, and even though York is two hours away by train it certainly made its way on the list of potential day-trips for that spare day. It looks like an incredible visit.
@DenDave_My city! Glad you had a fantastic time.
@spellcastinAre there cool sites in York for a toddler.
I would like suggestions, as I have a very active toddler, please help guys. Looking to visit this Christmas
Such a lovely video. Besides the Railway museum, what other tourist sites can I visit for free?
@hey_minny1239that was not a second astronaut... that was a diver 😂😂😂😂
@tommypicklez8285My second vlog of yours and I loved it as much as the first.
Great fun and very informative.
I visit York regularly living only a short distance away and I still learned things I didn't know.
Mmmmhh. Which vlog next. 😁😁🤔🤔
805 Walker Tunnel
@gracesebenson5412Visit York, England if you want to see Roman city walls, a Medieval city, and a Harry Potter street.
@GlobalTravelbyTigerGreat video, we’re going at the end of October - lots added to the ‘must do’ lost!
@jordanduke6163Not mentioned (there is so much to York and time is precious), in the winter months in either January or February there is a battle reenactment by Cliffords Tower (Castle Museum) during the day and after dark there is a viking long ship sailed down the river and from the side archers fire flaming arrows and set alight the vessel.
I'm not sure if this is every year so check York websites etc, it really is a must see, but wrap up because it is a long day and it's winter in the north.
Unlike Scotland in England lot places don't get handouts financial support from English government. One Reasons Minster charges because if didnt get income absolutely no way to fund any repairs to any of the Cathedral.
Something worth doing in minster is visit to undercroft not be confused with crypt. Undercroft is area directly above vaulted sealings top of minister it's guided tour only but we'll worth it u see plenty of areas most public never see.
Hiya there. My name is Micah.
@micahspeacefullife4203❤
@alexchan5155I'll be a 'tour guide' for my friends next week for Edinburgh, Manchester, York and London.. this video came just on time while I was looking for food spots!! Love your content <3
@akademikyolculukI stopped in York for 2 days on my way back to London from Edinburgh! It was great.
@SlurpeeEGoing to Edinburgh late October for my birthday . I’m super EXCITED! What events or attractions are coming up in October 🎃 I LOVE YOUR VIDEOS
@hellovic123Try living here, it's a rip off as well as turning quickly into a third world dumping ground! And they get the benefits!!
@RussJR1983Thank you 🙏 loved it❤❤❤😊😊😊
@TheEmpressgoth"Hey guys, let's go to the ice cream ... BARGE" <confused looks>
@davidpierce3217Finally, someone appreciating more different kinds of tea, and so many tea rooms! Didn't know York is so beautiful until now, and love the captured atmosphere ♥
@renhascakeMy daughter and I just were there two weeks ago. Sorry we missed you.
York was crazy busy and packed beyond belief. Not as enjoyable as it could have been.
But we spent three days in Edinburgh. And we bought some of your items in Edinburgh. So cute!
Love your channel. Great advice and very entertaining.
I’m coming back in April. I loved Scotland.
From America, Northern California. 🥰
