On the bin topic; it's a council regulation not to have it out more than 24hrs before bin collection day, and to be taken in the same day / day after. It depends on your area.

Back when I was a waiter/barista, I was clicked at like a dog and I just ignored him. He then clicked and whistled, I continued ignoring him.

It wasn’t until I got an excuse me miss that I stopped and answered. I did say I’m not a dog, talk to me like a person. He was Aussie also just incredibly rude.

Thankfully chef was always completely on my side in matters like that. He never believed in the customer is always right and wanted us treated well. Whenever he got complaints about things like that he would check in with us to get the story and usually got a laugh out of it and said good job.

This is surprisingly spot on! My old neighbour brought my bins in once… I never left the out beyond the acceptable time again 😅

Sending a meal back is almost unheard of in my experience here in Australia. Yet when I want to L.A. people I was with did it frequently.

It may be linked, but we tend NOT to ask for a thousand variations on a dish. Common in America was “I’ll take the lobster salad, but without the cucumber, mayo, olives or tomatoes, but with extra capers and radishes, and Monterey Jack, not Swiss.” Of course if anything goes wrong, the meal gets sent back.

In general, I think we trust the chef. The only thing you might give instructions about is how you like your steak cooked.

You pretty much described Canadians🇨🇦- minus coffee ☕️ obsession

I'm so sorry I think you are a wonderful and positive person and your videos are great but this is the most irrelevant video I have ever seen. Almost everything was just be nice to people or move your bins from public spaces. As an Aussie myself we don't care about most of this stuff. Sometimes an insult is a term of endearment. Also we think baristas are up themselves with their coffee etiquettes.

The simplest way to think of it, is that Australia is an egalitarian society. Everyone is equal, so you sit in the front with the taxi driver and ask about his day. You thank services staff, because you could just as easily be in that job. Treat everyone as you want to be treated, don’t waste their time and you’ll fit right in.

Smoking is also strictly controlled. Restaurants, hotel rooms and even pubs were smoke free when I was there. The smokers were very polite and went outside for a puff. Very impressive!

My mate left his bins out too long. That's how we realized he died! 😥

i've had patients quite a few times come wearing thongs :)

Pretty sure the coffee thing is more of a sophisticated Melbourne thing. But anything too fancy is kinda wild to an Aussie. Going to Starbucks and ordering some weird long named beverage probably isnt going to go down so well 😅

@AmberMyers-ek2bp

Another one, don't kill people. It is considered rude and people will usually be upset by it

Just be nice to people. It works everywhere

2:29 Who wouldn’t treat customer service staff polite?! As an American I was flabbergasted to see signs all over the UK shops warning people against mistreating staff. I look forward to my Australia trip in a few months. Seem like nice folks.

@OnehrPhotoman

I for one always wave to a car when I cross the road. If someone in reverse doesn't show some gratitude then yer we think they are rude.

Vey beautiful culture! Greetings from Verona, Italy!

@HumbertoSandri-z9s

They are very nosy and if you are in a work place it's either you spill your whole life for them to consider you friendly or you get the look and everyone be rude and systematically ignore you and disrespect you.

@midishehao
@

Don't be lying....starbucks exploits and disposes of its employees regularly, even HQ employees, moreover it enables genocide. Thats plenty of reason for any rational human not to drink their (honestly shitty) coffee.

In my unit when I take out the Rubbish bins to the kerb,I also take out the rest of the other units bins, as well as bring it back after.A bit of courtesy goes a long way and help out your neighbours.

@valentinelow1232

Yes, we can spot the new imports who don't thank you for letting them in in traffic and don't smile when you walk past them in the street is very bloody rude. It's how we spot the immigrants who just don't fit in here

When I'm in Australia I like to order my coffee New York style.
I love the look on their face when I say "I would like a regular coffee please"

Australians are some of the most neurotic people I came across. They have a lot of aggression, little empathy and understanding of human rights. I think growing up in the harsh colonial environment where indigenous Australians are subjected to so much cruelty shaped them as they are.

@LukeXMV

It is interesting that you mention cutting the line. I see more cutting of the line in Sydney than I have seen anywhere else, and not necessarily non locals, but Aussies.

@Wakame44

I'm guilty of leaving my bins out for a couple days too long. I just forget! 😅

@adamiotime

The coffee thing is so true. Starbucks has started popping up near where I live in Victoria...It's absolutely overwhelming to order from there for me. Even just the expectation to know the menu haha. I feel like I'm coding a drink for download or something, and i dont know the code language. "Yeah i need a grando skinny double crushed pumkin protein foam vanilla latte"

@jesseward3121

People who leave their bins out are called binfluencers.

@weistation

As an Australian it’s criminal you didn’t include being Asian on the list, most of white Australia are racist, not joking.

@NedstarYouTube

😂 This perfectly sums up Australian queue culture! Aussies can be super chill, but cutting the line is one of the fastest ways to get judged here 🇦🇺
