I was never taught anything by my father,he was a drug addict. We grew up white trash and poor so I was never given any of this advice because none of the men in our family had any experience with these things themselves. I want to be better though I want to be more .

I really love your advices, but I think you are missing one: Learn how to cook a decent meal.

Well said at the end, Sir! [amended: Well said all the way through, and especially poignant at the end.]

Catching up on your videos and enjoying them as I do. I was recently told that a Manhattan is traditionally served in a chilled coupe glass or martini glass. I noticed you used a lowball glass, which is what I prefer. Do you have a preference based on the occasion?

Fathrelessness has become the norm today.

Notice how boys and men are always told to be gentlemen, but girls and women are never told to be ladies? That's why men are fed up with women and more and more women end up being lonely, misandrist cat owners.

Turns out I had an excellent father, but I already knew that!

65 year old man here. Dress well. Use skin care. Keep the Alcohol to a minimum or avoid altogether. Especially if you work out. Alcohol will reduce your gains.
Regarding watches, vintage watches can bring something unique to your style.

My Dad taught me how to smoke cigarettes. We are menโ€™s men, no B.S. ๐Ÿšฌ

Wonderful advice. Particularly, Rule No. 8.

All men should learn to smoke.

I dont know if the the Andrew Tates and Carey Grants are going to be what the world needs in the future. Probably needs Dementus and Immortan Joe.

If you send someone a picture of private parts, use some from the internet. If you end up in court, your real parts will be at variance and thou shalt walk free of the magistrate and the judge. Huzzah!!!

@LusitanianSteamShovel
@

I have no misgivings about your character now that I have seen your Bauhaus prints on the wall. Excellent. A modern gentleman.

1:21 possibly the most stylish gentleman on the planet, more so than Bowie even...
Ive always felt that Ferry led with gentleman and had a touch of arty, where as Bowie was the other way round
both so effortlessly cool though

@DrCheeks
@

I would suggest drinking my Manhattan without the `swizzle` stick .

@jamesmay8434
@

Concur on retention of your privacy. Know your station, such as never outdress your role at a function. Certainly, have style. Refrain from that style being one of one-upmanship. Learn to move and talk slowly. Only those who lack self control, which is everyone at some point, fail in this.

I have one question from Rule 7; what is your take on long hair? Are they good choice?

I didn't watch this to find out what my dad didn't teach me. I watched this to find out what I should teach my son.

Only thing the guy who raised me was donโ€™t use a 15โ€ knife at the dinner table, especially at the restaurant, now itโ€™s only a 6โ€ KTM spear point ๐Ÿ˜Š

@afghanyeti

my dad's a cheater, aint no gentleman! not many young men today grow up with a loyal father around!

In a world of Andrew Tates, by a Cary Grant.

Iโ€™mโ€ฆ a bit into middle ageโ€ฆ was an adolescent and teenager in the 1980s.. and my father taught me many of these lessons. Given the era, we never had a skin care conversation, or a sexting conversation (though he would never have needed to, as my judgment was never that flawed).

My father was a Yalie, a naval officer, and an architect, so I got the majority of the lessons early on. Needless to say, he taught me to tie a tie, and also taught me to tie a bow tie at the age of 15.

Perhaps most importantly, decades before the phrase โ€œno means noโ€, my father explicitly talked to me about how to be a gentleman with girls/women. That was virtually unheard of in that era, but such was the character of my fatherโ€ฆ an officer and a gentleman.

@jasonmitchell432
@

I'm very very lucky to have a dad who has taught me all of this, and much more

@HarithhJsudass
@

For your rule 7. Here is the funny part. Cutting hair was considered unpopular, and girls found overgrown hair, attractive?

@ThePhoenixCAPT97
@

Haircut and hairstyle is a huge problem in the USA. As a hairstyle and a gentleman, I am feel I am living in a horror movie of total ugliness. Cheap and ghetto haircuts, face full of pimples or acne, unplesent clothes and extremely auful ans stinky cheap colognes. Those things make a person look understated in looks, beauty, and undesirable

@arkadiananian1735
@

Regarding suits on wedding, I have another suggestion. Ask the hosts in advance what to wear.๐Ÿ˜Š

@arkadiananian1735
@

Amen! Watches, how important it could be to have a nice timepiece. ๐Ÿ˜Š I have a nice collection of those!

@arkadiananian1735

Amen on the timepiece. Omega in this house.
