I used to think I was a sociopath but I found out it's far far more likely that, I'm empathy fatigued due to lack of trust in people due to all my trauma.

My mom told me that she is a sociopath recently and that she hid it from me for years (i moved out a few months ago) she tries her best to be a good mother i dont doubt that but she is very manipulative and has hurt me alot, when i first told her i got raped she told me i have to stop letting stuff like happen to me and she kind of made that and how i was abused by my ex about her by bringing up the few things they did to her, she constantly needs things to be about her and she lacks empathy i knew that even before she told me because she doesn’t feel guilt whenever she hurts someone i have seen her hurt so many people and feel no remorse,but people think shes a very good person she works as a psw who helps old and disabled people and she is constantly worried about looking like a bad mother/person but doesn’t actually worry about doing the steps to not do things that hurt people she only cares about how people view her and she always needs to be in control of the people close to hers lives, i love my mom and i know its the way her brain is as i have bpd and also have hurt people and im not perfect but i wish she would get therapy to help her to not hurt people at least as much because i really do love my mom but i dont want to be around someone who hurts me and the people i care about or just anyone, i think her childhood made her this way though because it was extremely traumatic like mine we both just developed different personality disorders because of the different traumas we experienced

I'm just about to resign from my job of 16 years due to reaching my limit of having to deal with a sociopath coworker 15 years younger than me, for the past 8 years.. He seems to have "protected species Status" in my Manager's view of his behaviour. This sociopath at work I am supposed to deal with, was nose to nose with me last week at work. Red in the face and clenching his fists whilsts raging at me all because I thought he had accidentally left his lunch time milk on lunchroom table and I was just going to place it back in the fridge for him so the milk wouldn't go sour. He raged at me to leave his F@!#king property alone and stay the F out of his face. My work Manager's response to the incident, when he eventually found out, was to just inform me that the Sociopath and I need to get along at work. That was all he had to say. In his own words, he was "not interested" in hearing anything I had to say about what happened. ☹

This was not the first time this sort of thing has happened. It's been getting worse for about the last 4 years now. The sociopath I have to work with is generally rude and behaves in a degrotive manner to nearly everyone, even some of our customers. He barely ever bothers to even say good morning or See Ya to the rest of us, who have to deal with his behaviour at work.

The really "Creepy & Unsettling" thing, is the way he can go from ice cold and be completly emotionless, to full blown "red in face rage", in the space of 10 seconds or less!!! A living breathing Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde personality, on steroids. He even admits that he doesn't "do people" because the vast majority of Humans (In his world view) are "useless idiot morons" that mostly don't deserve to be alive! I definitely no longer feel completely safe at work, around this "sociopath" He could do some serious damage to me he's a big build compared to me, and I haven't had to be in a physical fight in a long time. Not since some years I spent, when I was much younger in the Australian Regular Army. 😧

I'm in my early 60's now and not interested in having to accept this aggressive and derogative "maniacal" behavior form a co-worker, 15 years younger than I. The bloke i'm talking about, never mentions anything about any friends or partners he might have, and is still living at home with his parents in his mid 50's, As far as I can tell, he has never lived on his own or with anyone except his parents ....

Enough is Enough. It's time bring on my early retirement!

Hi I have a friend who is a lot like this she is often very cold and some might say intimidating in school and when we are together she often acts very possessive of me and if anyone tries to talk to me she becomes aggressive and violent she also cannot feel empathy for example once she and I were walking past a girl in our class crying and she later said that it was stupid and weird that she was crying another thing is that it’s kind of scary that she can reproduce emotions that she isn’t feeling very easily. To me it’s a lot like how you were explaining but I don’t know if I should say that she needs help or keep quiet

keep in mind a lot of people with this mask, so you might not even know until later on. Also not all of them engage in criminal behavior, they might do something they know is legal but wrong, to abuse someone. My mom has all the traits but was smart enough to know not to get in trouble with the law. But behind closed doors this was her.

I see opportunities for manipulating people easily, and I struggle with empathy but I've developed it more, and I make myself small. I feel like I can relate to experiences of a sociopath, but I don't think I am sociopathic. My experiences are very confusing.
