With respect, most of the things you've listed aren't passive income.
Creating content, affiliate marketing, building courses, creating software, and building online businesses are active businesses that may become semi-passive years later.
True passive income usually requires significant capital. That's why wealthy people can generate meaningful passive income while ordinary people can't.
The problem isn't that people don't understand passive income. The problem is that many influencers rebrand entrepreneurship as passive income because it sounds easier to sell.

I do like the renting out stuff idea though, however still requires a lot of work, time and risk of damage.
Only idea 1 is truly passive income.

@PlainMoneyByJamesOutrageous to count making content as passive income, as especially a YouTube channel strategy, concepting, shooting, editing, optimising not just has a massive learning curve but will take an enormous amount of time weekly, even with AI tools nowadays. And you don't just go viral by itself, getting to 1000 subscribers takes an enormous amount of promo and/or networking, no one just finds your content. Not on YouTube, not on Tiktok, not on any platform.

@Guld-l3oI've been watching these vids, eventually I joined a live video one afternoon. I didn't expect to hard sold a Wealth Portal at a limited price of £499 for an opening of 500 places made available for a limited time, being snapped up quick, get in before the places are all gone. The live video wasn't live, it looked like a recording and offered little of substance. Basically it's not about the service you offer, it's how you offer it. 20hrs to develop a skill you don't realise you have already that could be used to sell a service to businesses that'll pay you thousands for, repeatedly. Forget them that are excellent at what they do, they're just crap at marketing themselves, your barely adept at skill marketed correctly, regardless consideration of your impact for the company will earn you 10k a month, but to learn the skills this millionaire wants you and 500 others to part with £499! Do the math, it ain't rocket science who's gaining the certain wealth and we're from...YOU! Don't be suckered in.
