I’ve not read everything, so someone may have said this before, but Lima, Oh is in the old Great Black Swamp area. It’s called Lima after the city in Peru, which supplied the Quinine to treat that. Not after the bean. We just can’t pronounce anything correctly!
@gtillman96They may say 'Columbus' but trust me, I'm from Ohio & Cleveland IS totally insane ! !

@thegreypath1777You forgot the upcoming nineth president from Ohio, J. D. Vance. We haven't had a president with a beard since Ben Harrison 1889 - 1893.
@johnruetz3849AI voices may sound "real" but even the untrained ear can tell a computer is voicing a script. Why content creators use AI is beyond me. It makes your somewhat interesting video.... nearly unwatchable. For those who can't tell, just listen for odd pauses, mispronounced names and absolutely no emotion for emphasis. #hireProfessionalVoices
@lword45All true. Especially the weather. So crazy. All seasons all the time. If you don5 like the weather wait 10mins

@deidrezbiegien5549Fun facts about the Great Black Swamp:
- The soil (muck) burns. I've fought muck fires before and they're a bear. It's like a compost pile fire, except the compost pile extends for hundreds of acres. They can be ignited by lightning, field fires, or even a cigarette.
- The soil level is decreasing. Part of it is because the soil is blowing away, but the bigger portion is that it's actually decaying. It's that full of organic matter.
- The muck is ideal for the production of carrots. Onions also used to be grown here. Now it's primarily corn, though.
- The biggest town in the marsh is McGuffey, a village home to 550 people, two churches, one school, and one pizza joint. It used to have a gas station until Louie retired. Many of the people who originally settled the village were from the back woods of Appalachia who moved to the area to work in the onion fields. In 1912 the field workers went on strike for better wages. The county sheriff deputized a hundred or so people from the nearby city of Kenton and sent them on a train to McGuffey to go break up the strike. Thing is, the folks he deputized were the less desirable elements from Kenton - punks, criminals, hoodlums, etc. They arrived to take on the hillbillies and rednecks. You can imagine how well that went for them. The strike eventually culminated in someone blowing the mayor's house off its foundations with dynamite. Faced with the possibility of fields full of rotting onions, the land owners eventually gave in.
Nice points to know, but there are many, many mispronunciations of Ohio cities.

@GeorgeFSalemWay back when Ohio used to be called the Ohio Valley and covered Kentucky, Indiana, Michigan, Illinois and bit to the east. So who stole whose land? Look it up, late 1700s, early 1800s. Correction, Ohio Territory.
