5 Unexplainable Mysteries Explained by Science

Video Overview & Insights

Do you want to know how some of Earth's most fascinating mysteries have been solved by science? Join us and learn about 5 thought-to-be unexplainable mysteries—explained! Hosted by Hank Green.

I really like this channel and watch it often. My only criticism is too much 'YouTube over-gesturing'. My advice as a gesture researcher - Use your hands to highlight what really matters, not to fill every second of screen time: let your gestures land on key words, contrasts, and transitions so they naturally follow the rhythm of your message. Think “underline, not wallpaper”: a few clear, well-timed movements will make you look more focused and energetic than constant random-seeming waving or windmilling ever will.

This is so interesting. Both how ancient civilisations have share experiences and create legends to document them (will o the whisp) and the science behind them.

There is no word "unexplainable." The word for something that can't be explained is inexplicable.

Most people don't know how most things work. That's the beauty of product. Like Cars. I have zero clue how to fix it. I can't even reconnect the little hose for the washer fluid, cuz I don't know where it goes. Yet, I'm perfectly able to drive any vehicle with great precision, I was a driver in the Army. So I don't appreciate the whole "gee people are dumb and don't know how bikes work" thing, and I'm not gonna watch this.

I recall reading a book by Thor Heyerdahl, called Aku Aku where they raised one of the Easter Island statues and reset the topknot (pukao) back in 1955.
Also, it wasn't weather and erosion that toppled the statues, they were knocked down by a tribe of slaves, called the short-ears, when they revolted and wiped out most of the long-ears. I did read the book nearly 30 years ago, so details are a little shaky.

What a load of bull excreta. So the people who experienced meat rain didn't care to look up in the sky to see the vultures? Or were the people of the Time stupid like you who made the video

“2 to 6 METERS per minute” is slow, but definitely fast enough to be very easily observed.
Perhaps that was meant to be “centimeters”?

almost 1 week ago before the eq..i have seen a red ball of light shooting upwards in the middle of the sea. just before 7.4 magnitude Turkey EQ on 17th August 1999. And also a purple light a day later but this was already in the sky it grew bigger and bigger then disappeared. i was at around 300km from the epicenter .

How much meat fell in that 'shower', because they always make it out like the whole town was covered in meat, and some vultures vomiting obviously doesn't explain that

@Rujewitblood

When you hear the word; “Probably” in an explanation, then that means that Science has not solved the mystery; it’s just a guess.

Kudos to you for giving the measurements in metric units! Many, many USA youtubers simply ignore the fact that 190+ countries use the metric system. I've lost count of how many videos I've abandoned unseen because they would only mention those imperial measurements that lack standardization and have often arbitrary relationships between units.

The meat shower solution seems quite dubious, seems like people would have noticed a big swarm of vultures and even if they were flying to high to be seen it would seem that this would happen occur Moore frequently.
