What is a phrase? Essentially, a phrase is a group of words that work together or go naturally together. Unlike a clause, a phrase does not contain both a subject AND a verb or predicate. A phrase cannot stand alone as a complete sentence.
A noun phrase is a group of words that act as a noun. Example: The lovely lady with red hair
excellent job 🎉🎉
A verb phrase consists of a main verb and possibly modal verbs or auxiliary verbs depending on the verb tense. Example: had been dancing
An adjective phrase is a group of words that describe a noun or pronoun. Example: very big and strong
Excelente, excelente, excelente, gracias
An adverb phrase is a group of words that describe information about the action. Example: extraordinarily slowly
A prepositional phrase starts with a preposition and ends with a noun, pronoun, or noun phrase. Example: with my friends and family
