Honestly, I am quite tired of the word "culture" because it is so overused in the corporate world. Use terms that us regular Joe's relate to.

More people need to learn this. It’s called being polite and having good manners.
Being “blunt and speaking one’s mind” is overrated anyway.
Well rounded people only do so when it’s absolutely necessary. But some like to use that as an excuse to be an asshole. It’s pathetic really. smh….

Excellent. How do you handle a person who'd start with 'DON'T TELL ME WHAT TO DO' when you already used the curiosity tool over a person who does the job against a standard ( guidance of a specific medical organisation or policy). We work in a hospital setting and when it comes to your truth and my truth it's narrowed as we specific standard is outlined by organisational body.

The cultural tip was very interesting! I had heard about the Japanese that when they want to speak or ask a question, their eyes start to glow brighter!

I need to send my former boss (CEO) to your channel. This would help him. Sad that he lacked the experience and emotional IQ to run the company. He was given his title by himself being in charge of the businesses his parents handed to him as they retired. As much as i tried to educate and inform him he didn’t value my perspective despite my 25+ yrs of experience. I ran his businesses was promoted to COO given more responsibilities but he treated me like a fool. I now look back and realized it was gender discrimination he didn’t have the heart to be transparent with his family. I raised concerns for one of the store managers that was on 2 PIPs and then his third and final offense he had intimate relations with a subordinate staff and when this store manager’s wife found out he fired the staff. Quid Pro Quo. I proposed immediate termination but my boss the CEO didn’t agree. Instead i was terminated for not agreeing with him. Long story short, emotional IQ is very important to have the ability to make right decisions and judgement. Turns out the store manager is related to the CEO and now i filed suit. My lesson that i learned? To be in an executive level position you need the backbone to have these difficult conversations with your higher ups so they can make the right decisions which i did speak up and assert my position. I learned now too its not about the paycheck but who you are working for. Are they experienced and have the knowledge to make the toughest decisions to lead the company in the right direction.

Great tips. Thanks. Even though I've learned these tips over the years, it is still helpful to be reminded. One suggestion for all Dr. Grace's videos is to be more succinct. We are all very busy and hare short attention spans. And there is endless competition for this type of information. If the content can be expressed in 3 minutes, do it in 3 minutes, not 11 min. I found myself keep skipping to just get the 5 tips.
