I really appreciate this. I have not just learned different methods to have a study break but also that social media is harmful in various ways.
Today I'm sharing the 5 most effective study breaks based on science. These evidence-based tips are arranged in the memorable acronym "B-R-A-I-N" so you can remember which type of break to take based on what you need. Do you need to restore focus? Are you struggling to concentrate? Do you need to remember information better? I hope these tips help you! And even let you study for 8+ hours in a balanced way.

I always experience this cognitive replay. I take a 5 min nap between pomodoros, and I always end up making the path I've just studied during the nap, it's automatic. It really organizes what I've seen and if I'm trying to solve a problem, I always come up with the solution in this nap!

Hi,
great video. Definitely a much needed piece of content. Evidence based and everything. Thank you so much!!
Though I am wondering how breathing exercises fit into this video. I have experienced great success with those. But they do not all serve the same purpose or "category like you define them". For example, phonological sigh helps more to come down when stressed, where as wim hof breathing actually activates and arouses you, which helps with feelings of tiredness. And then there is also box breathing which I just can't really get a read on.
Do you have any experience with these techniques, evidence about their effectiveness or just an idea where and how they fit in?
Would love to hear it.

Not me here binge watching your study videos on a Sunday. I got a day off after so long and I'm just catching up. Jade love can you please please please make a video on how you research. Your citations have always fascinated me. They're all from such specific resources. One time I researched all your citations and that's why I'm out here asking Ma'am please make a video on how you research and where you learn or read these amazing scientific papers and findings.

FAQ:
Yeah let me get a catchy word then build my method around it. Fucking wannabe science. Same with software engineering and their buzzwords.

You really think non academic is less stressful then general talk molded by a world that refuses even acknowledge the basics of truth ? "Empathy(correctness through emotional weight-=any klkind) and evil are equivalent" one is the process of cvcreating the other.
if no one has told you today, you are enough. 💛
Idk if that's a good idea but most of my study breaks are listening to same songs over and over again especially Taylor Swift's songs. 😅😅

i need tips for studying a lot after 9-6pm work:(
@athena263What type of music would be recommending to calm the mental mind? I find my music type too energetic and not really relaxing (prodigy for example)
@Luca-p3vThanks lot for this! I am so happy that this is about HOW to have a healthy break rather than fully avoiding them, not many people talk about that topic 💗✨
@GannahHossam-o3g8xWhy she look like regina from DARK web series ❤❤❤❤❤😂❤❤❤❤❤
@RafikPathan-d6wThank you Jade! Your videos help me conceptualize how to learn and the point of it all. I also just recently picked up your book guide on study habits and wow, it really did feel like i put my fingers on the goldmine of study habits. ❤
@mxrl_413Thank you, Jade.
@MarcArthurJonasRichardThe question is, how do I get my lazy depressed bum to exercise.
@ameliabunsMain takeaway should be, anything that's stimulating/engaging is not taking a break. Most peoples' breaks are literally not breaks. Hence the issues.
@wowandrsslove this
@DamisDamisDamisilloso for every 1 hr i study let me take 10 min x 5 breakes, damn that sounds awesome(sarcasm intended for idits who dont understand
)
The first things is you actually study and in this generation for most… the hardest part is to actually study …. We just dont study … we think but keep wasting time untill its too late
But….
The solution is pretty simple… just when you wakeup in the morning put your phone in some closet and lock it and dont use it like till 5pm say you not gonna use before it and u can do whatever else there is … just do this and 80% problems solved 💁
Yah it will only work when you seriously want to achieve something otherwise just continue scrolling next
day nobody cares
Was checking for the sources in the description. Didn't see any.
@freepointsgals609So students that got in trouble in class for daydreaming, drawing, moving around, etc. was in the right
@NatalieCompton-m6r(Yep im watching this on my study break....)
And I love playing piano for a longer break. I guess another instrument would work. When I'm studying for a long time I try to drink loads and then whenever I need the toilet I go, and then get another drink, so I'm rehydrating, and often get a snack too
"Science shows that (crochet) is one of the most perfect tasks you can do in between studying"
Oh if only I had the willpower to STOP myself from crocheting when I start. Like that's a cute idea but if I start crocheting, my hook and I are inseparable for the next hour
1. Bad concentration —> physical activity break
2. Clear your head —> soft fascination: looking at nature
3. If you’re stuck with a problem/exercise —> creative activity: doodling, painting, drawing
4. Memorisation —> do nothing, close your for 10 minutes, meditate
5. Reduce stress —> socialising, talking with a friend, no screens, talking about sth fun
For the last one, is taking a call with a friend fine, or does it have to be like IRL face to face?
