Beaches and ocean access include Windansea Beach, La Jolla Shores, La Jolla Cove and Children's Pool Beach. For many years, La Jolla has been the host of a rough water swim at La Jolla Cove.
La Jolla Cove is a small, picturesque cove and beach that is surrounded by cliffs in La Jolla, San Diego, California. The Cove is protected as part of a marine reserve; underwater it is very rich in marine life, and is popular with snorkelers, swimmers and scuba divers.

California sea lions can be found in the waters of the Cove and hauling out, temporarily leaving the water to rest on its beaches, cliffs, and bluffs. Up on the bluffs above the beach, and stretching south to other nearby beaches, including Shell Beach and Children's Pool Beach, is Scripps Park, a well-maintained grassy area with trees and other plantings. Scripps Park is used for picnicking and relaxing.

I was born at the Navy Hospital in San Diego. Spent every summer basking in the sun as a child at La Jolla Cove. Learned to swim there, Barbecued every weekend with my family. Such memories. Then spent my teen yrs at La Jolla Shores where I learned to ride the waves on a raft. And later became an avid bodysurfer. Marine St. Was where my sisters and friends took on 6 ft waves! Had to learn how to flip out at the end of the wave to prevent breaking our shoulders due to the sand bank. Those were the days. At 30 I moved to Gravilla St. Lived in a triplex built by the famous architect, Wright. I should have bought that place. Totally furnished with antiques, with a hugh agave outside the dining room door. Ahh... Memories

When I was 22 and blowin' in the wind, my parents moved close to here. I thought it wise to stay a few hours drive away. This is the road I could have taken at the fork of the road. When I get back to CA from working overseas, I think I'll visit and visit and visit until I have roots.

My son went to UCSD, La Jolla, and graduated. I have a sticker on the back of my car that says ‘alumni.’ While he was a student, we would drive to see him from Ventura County, Oxnard so often. He would come home then back to San Diego. One day, we went to the University library, and hit my face on glass doors. I thought it was opened, I was embarrassed and just laughed. Then one day, he drove us to eat at Puerto Huevo Restaurant, was beautiful ride along the coast from SD via Tijuana. It was delicious opened shell of lobster 🦞, a complete meal. In National City, you can try so many delicious Pilipino dishes, tropical drinks, halo-halo and desserts. I am half 🇺🇸/🇵🇭.
When my family came to visit us, I drove them to Sea World, around the military naval bases, of course to beautiful La Jolla.
My neighbor’s daughter is going to San Diego State University, and said, she would rather live in San Diego. She comes home from time-to-time.

It is really just too damn bad. Perfect climate, gorgeous landscape, streets etc. To the Gov.: OUT, OUT DAMN SPOT! Let LA Jolla reclaim its number one spot in the USA as the best climate, most beautiful place in the USA.

@lisasmth9856I’ve lived in Oklahoma or Dallas 90% of my life, I lived in Las Vegas two years. I’ve always felt like this is where I belong, I have visited twice. Unfortunately it’s just so expensive to live out there I’m sure I will ever be able to pull it off, it’s depressing
