3 Months in My 'Everything Book' 📓 Journal Flip Through
Video Overview & Insights
It's been 3 months since I've started this notebook, and I can honestly say it's the most connected I've felt to my journaling practice. I truly consider this my "everything book" - it houses my inner world - and I'm excited to be sharing a flip through with you today. ☁️🌙
Hey loved this video, this inspired me to write everything on my notebook!

One of my favorite pop fact about time and dinosaurs is we lived closer in time to T.Rex than T.rex did to Stegosaurus 😅 it’s crazy. That and the fact that mammoths were still alive (in a very limited capacity) when the pyramids were being built.

oh man i want to copy this format but i've already bought my first a6 bifold travelers journal impulsively. maybe i can buy a le portfolio one day if i really love the A6 size...
@LittleCocoStudio
@torionpaper
I've also recently made the decision to size down from my A5 avec to an A6 avec (July cant start sooner) and also got a Le Portfolio to house it. I'm so obsessed with my new setup, its so comforting to watch you be in yours too. I've watched your new A6 vids so many times already 😅<3

Such a calming video, I love it. Do you decorate the page before you write? Like on the days you take your journal with you, do you carry stickers with you?

Loved this video and I think I might try to do this! I feel like I've been overcomplicating things by having separate notebooks for everything. Also, what kind of printer do you use for the printouts? :)

You might enjoy “a brief history of everything” by Bill Bryson. It’s one of my most favorite books! I also love learning about earth.

Agree re: humans thinking we are more important than any other animal on this earth.
@staciamj1What are you using to print all these stickers? Like the book cover of Project Hail Mary?
@Matthew3WilsonI am so sorry if you have answered this before somewhere, but how do you print your images for your diary? They look so great in there! ❤
@shaffroncityI clicked because I saw Artemis 2 and was NOT disappointed 😍
Side note I’ve been so interested in paleontology, particularly the Permian period I recommend the channels Extinct Zoo (for paleontology and earth history) and Astrum (for space) These channels really made me feel interested in the topic in a digestible way and I really love it. I got real into space after Integrity (Artemis 2’s ship) splash landed and I finished my painting to celebrate.
Yet another side note I think I might start doing this. I have a notebook I wrote it a little bit expressing my anger about all the horrible shit ICE is doing and my frustration with my own helplessness and I haven’t wanted to pick the book up because it just feels heavy filled but I can turn it into this I can do this!! I’m going to try and I’ll see if it helps me :)
I’m so interested in deep time, so I’m glad to find another journalling person who’s fascinated with it!
@emusingemmaLove your journal. It’s wild to think about how quickly humans have changed and destroyed/polluted the earth and changed the entire landscape. In the grand scheme of things, if you zoom out into the universe we almost seem like a virus. :)
@Courtney-3I think you’d really like the book Timefulness by Marcia Bjornerud. It will add to what you’re already learning about the geologic time scale.
@user-vv4tj5pg4bWAOO SOO CUET ND BEAUTIFUL ART OF 🎨 COLOURS JUNK JOURNAL ITEMS AESTHETICS 🎉😮😮❤
@lively_leIm new here, I didn't know you were autistic!! I'm also on the spectrum and now I feel like that's maybe part of why I find your channel so soothing :)
@loresmith4470Your journal is so inspiring and it makes me wish I could try A6. Part of me wants to and another part is pretty sure that it wouldn’t work. My journaling was pretty solid but now as summer approaches I feel all over the place.
@paperismystoryI love your videos! They are so calming and I'm definitely inspired by some of your layouts and ideas. I wish I could write as long and as often as you do. But since I changed jobs, I find it hard to find the time to write anymore. But I definitely won't give up journaling. It keeps me alive and allows me to conect with myself. People like you inspires me to continue keeing a diary.
@Art.gelaynYES to bringing back “diary”!!!
I love that you wrote about dinosaurs! I wonder about them all the time. I was watching an interview with a biologist who was talking about something called dinosaur death pose!!! So fossils they find sometimes are like all bent backwards! It’s the opposite for mammals who tend to go fetal. Grim but fun fact!
Ahh I love seeing your stickers! I put a bunch of them on my kindle and they make me sO HAPPPYY.
The other day I was looking up “Tumblr movies” because I feel like I watched some gooood movies back in my Tumblr era like thats when I learned about eternal sunshine, and in that list was shutter island so this is the second time this week I’ve come across that movie. I think it’s a sign that I need to re-watch it.
I too love adventure time, my favorite character is BMO
Gotta open a tab to do research on Uranus in gemini!!!
This was such a lovely video!
thank you, this was very inspiring 💫🩵
@kimsartbookmy current journal also starts with the picture of the blue horse saying "almost forgot it's all for fun" and the coincidence made me so happy haha
@Sasha-mb3rvI loved you nerding out about the different eons. If you don't already watch Lindsay Nikole on here you really should because she has plenty of videos about the different ages within the eons and I've been binge watching those 😅
@RayowagWho makes that little graph notebook?
@jessytramontana5598This is lovely to see - I love your system of using different coloured dots for different subjects, I've been wanting to go to an 'everything' book but trying to figure out how to make it feel 'right', with everything all mixed in together. I've been an inveterate separator-out up till this point, my brain struggles with having different things mixed in together. I think this simple colour-coding system could work for me, though, because it's simple but clear.
@isolareadsI love the facts you shared about dinosaurs in the beginning of this video so far! my son is very into dinosaurs right now so it’s become a special interest of mine. 🫶🏼
@mamaonpapersending lots of love from another burnt out autistic ❤️🩹 i loved hearing you discuss earth’s history and how you’ve worked through your pages :) thank you sm for sharing and i’m so glad this has worked so well for you!
@autisticbuckyI love love love this video! I can't even put into words how much I loved it and how inspiring it is! It was awesome to hear about your interests (now I wanna learn about the Earths history too!) and see your wonderful entries. Now I really want to start my own journal, or should I say diary haha? How do you get the pictures btw, do you print them on a normal printer and then stick them on?
@DianikornI've been thinking about abandoning my Cousin (because it's to much to upkeep at the moment) and feeling guilty about it, so this doesn't help 😅
@youvegotwingsI ended up switching from an A5 blank to… an a6 hononichi, my first ever hobonichi! You and a few other YT people inspired me as I realised I’m just not taking my A5 out with me, it’s too big. The hobinichi It’s been letting me memory keep a lot better and stop overplanning and then beating myself up, and I love writing in it. Though I’ve just added a little A6 blank grid midori as I’ve been missing having a space to make more granular plans when I need to so I can project plan a bit more, as I have been a die hard Ryder-style bujo girl until getting this spring start techo & weekly supplement. (I have a cute little journal band I can tuck the techo, supplement and grid book into)
@KTCoopeI love my b6 journal, but every time i see a text-heavy a6, i feel my commitment waver a little.
Burnout has completely turned my life inside out - I'm just about to hit the two year mark of having to leave work, and I'm only just starting to apply for jobs again (in a very different space, lol). I've been so lucky to have been able to convalesce (or whatever the modern equivalent of being taken to the seaside for one's health might be) at a pace that my body needs. The Current World is not conducive to that at all.
استمتعت كثير بهذه الصفحات الرائعة شكرا لك لقد الهمتني بعض الافكار الجميلة ❤
@Yres-uh3rxThis was so beautiful and immensely inspiring to watch and listen. Thank you.
@clelia287Oh man. I love hearing about facts about Earth's history. This one fascinates me: Cleopatra lived closer in time to the Moon landing than to the construction of the Great Pyramid of Giza.
@saiaplanningYes to the stationery wish list video, please! It would be lovely as well if you'd share your decision-making process and how you try to balance getting things that you want vs. worrying about buying something you might not use, etc. etc.
thanks for doing these videos! thoroughly enjoy listening to you talk about your process in keeping a diary and how that's been helpful for you!
This was so relaxing to watch and incredibly interesting at the same time. Thank you for sharing such personal parts of your life with us.
I found it truly inspiring.
I empathize so deeply with your comments on burnout recovery - I just had to pause the video and write this immediately!
I was in a similar position to you several years ago, before I knew I was autistic so I didn’t know it was autistic burnout, let alone what I needed.
I spiraled - big time! When my therapist suggested I take time off of work for a month, I knew there was no way I could do that. I had a full time job running a business, no savings, bills to pay, etc. I could not conceive of the possibility. And then I ended up in the hospital, and all of a sudden I had no other option. I had to find a way because I had zero capacity to do anything but see to my basic needs. Because I had to, I allowed myself to be curious about how I was going to make it work. I ended up taking two months off work (although I stayed in contact with work to answer questions/provide limited assistance - which I do not recommend doing!), then I worked part-time from home (like 15hrs/wk max), and with the help of my psychiatrist was able to go on part-time disability to make up for the partial loss in income. I did this for an entire year, that’s what I needed. However, I didn’t plan it that way, I just took it day by day, month by month. It remains the best year of my life!
I recovered and learned what my body and nervous system need and how to keep that my highest priority going forward. I never want to be in that spiral again. There is always a way to take care of yourself, even if you can’t see it yet.
I also live in CA and know a thing or two about our state’s HR laws - they are weighted heavily in favor of employees here. You have the legal right to take a medical leave of absence without risking your job, you’re also entitled to use the state’s disability insurance (SDI). I can’t tell you what to do, but want you to know just a few of the options and that it’s more possible than you think. You should be able to discuss it with your HR department in confidence (you don’t need to justify yourself or share your diagnosis - and in fact they shouldn’t ever ask b/c it opens the door to illegal discrimination), and without telling your manager/boss anything until you decide what you’re going to do. So you can call them and ask questions about your options without setting anything into motion (although I recommend reading your employee handbook before you talk to them, know your rights!). No one needs to know anything except that you’re taking leave, in case you’re worried about that. You do need something from a doctor recommending the leave, signing off on the leave and later, your return to work. So also talk to your doctors, can be your PCP or a specialist, psychiatrist, etc. and see if they’re willing to do that. Some doctors don’t like doing the SDI paperwork, but if you’re an established patient and it’s medically necessary they can’t really say no (and if they do, you need a different doctor!).
You may run into roadblocks, unhelpful people, or discouraging feedback. Don’t let it stop you - no matter what route you end up taking, just be curious about the possibilities and know what your options are even if you’re not ready to take action. But from experience I don’t recommend waiting until you end up in the hospital. Trying to get help with mental health treatment when you’re at your most vulnerable is unbelievable, it’ll make life worse until you manage to get it. I’m happy to talk with you if you have questions! I now work in the mental health field and have an HR background. So much love to you and anyone else reading this who is in the same position! ❤❤❤
Thank you for sharing all those beautiful pages, it definitely felt like a treat ❤️ And I like how you don’t shy off writing & discussing disability/mental health related topics, as they are part of your life & journey (that so many of us can relate to). Hope summer is treating you well 🍉
@jenzwaldAs a fellow autistic person, I love listening to you talking about your special interest. I see in you a kindred spirit.
@arhyana9962definitely interested in a stationary wishlist video! really interesting to hear about the astrology bit, i'm a Scorpio too, exciting to hear we might be coming into an easier time in life 😂 it's so nice to hear about how happy and at home you feel in your book now, I love that feeling when I feel it in my books too
@wildleafjoyPMDD GANG RISE
@sampswasherein my latest video i was talking about how ur journal/diary should fit ur life not the other way around. it’s good to change things! u change! so ofc ur needs change!
@sampswashereSpot on review of "Wuthering Heights". This film should have been titled differently because basically 60% of the book was disregarded. It's like they made a film for Tik Tok cutting out all uncomfortable bits. It was just distasteful! But it did translate the atmosphere of the book to the modern language. I cannot stop comparing this to "Frankenstein" which also changed the plot but with a lot more respect for the original, without making it a different story.
@mellodiAlways get so inspired by your videos🥹
@emofjorrisI love seeing these flip throughs!
