My neighbour here on the island of Tasmania is this year approaching his 80th birthday. He did his apprenticeship in the 50s in London, training with old school masters. He is still busy making beautiful jewellery and setting diamonds for many reputable brands around the country. I don’t like rose gold as the claws for this particular stone. The stone is the most beautiful bubblegum pink, using rose gold claws creates orangey shadows on the stone, so diminishes it color wise. For this stone I would have used a white metal. I’d keep the rose gold for diamonds in the orangey pink spectrum of colours. Stunning ring otherwise.
