Thank you @HowFarFromHomeChannel for the Inspo!🙏🏻

Gellert thermal baths are closed for renovation for a few years and the new York cafe isn't worth it in my opinion I found a nicer cafe and vibe in the Parisi passage. If you also visit fisherman bastion at sunrise you can go into the areas where normally you have to pay for free

Chapters:

Your skin may itch after the thermal baths but that's ok? Really? I've read they are very unhygienic and in my country your skin doesn't itch. Also I can't continue watching as the woman has a very phony put on voice.

You have to pay attention to the prices because the owners and taxi drivers are also very stingy and overprice for western tourists.
They directly target foreign tourists.

It’s been underrated because it’s been run by a dictator. Now people can feel good spending their money knowing they aren’t supporting a fascist but supporting a democracy.

I heard the word "affordable" so many times in this video.. let's put this into context: affordable for you guys. Not at all affordable for a local with his or her monthly wage of 900 EUR in Budapest. That's how much people with university degree earn in Budapest (without tax-exemptions). That's why people with even lower salaries (waitresses, shop assistants, controllers etc. appear to be so grumpy and rude and sad).

Europe’s most underrated city? What???
It’s been one of Europe’s top tourist destinations for years – constantly featured on “most beautiful cities in Europe” lists by Lonely Planet, Condé Nast, National Geographic… Tourists are everywhere, the baths, ruin bars, and views are all over social media. There’s nothing “hidden” about it.

@renatadurcovic

Lol. I live her but never visited most of the places you visited (or other turists as a matter of fact), only the market where I buy stuffs for cooking 😂
I once had a Couchsurfer (in Debrecen) and he specifically said he didn want to go to tourists places, but to bars where regular locals go. I found it interesting, but actually to get the real vibe of a city I think it is a good idea,at lwasr for some.

As a Hungarian, I am proud when watching this video. :) I am glad you had a nice time here. Lake Balaton is also a popular place in summertime. In July the weather is very hot.

What a lovely video!

Though, I know it's all about Budapest, but we have other amazing cities as well: Debrecen, Szeged, Eger, Pécs, Tihany, Tokaj, Szentendre, Esztergom, Visegrád and where I live (with much love), Veszprém, the 2023 Europe's Capital of Culture... these all worth a visit. All with its' amazing architecture, culture and amazing food and wine/beers. Hungary is way more than our capital!

Skip the food/snacks at the great market hall. They are costly. If you try them, be careful when always saying yes as every ingredient/sauce/topping/container they add has a cost. Langos in other piac (market) is way better and cheap.

I really don't find Budapest underrated. It is very popular among Europeans. And yes, it's very lovely and affordable.

Loved this video! Just watched it as we were in Budapest only 3 months ago. Sadly we did not have the same experience as you did at the NY cafe. It was disgraceful really and we left without even finishing our meals (which were inedible). No service and when we were leaving to pay, they demanded we leave a tip and they tried to add it to our bill as part of a dish ordered. We were not the only tables to leave. Some left without even paying, but nobody cared because they will still get people returning despite the reviews. Just like we did. You were lucky Claire.
