I very much like Fairy Tail, I really don't understand the hate. All anime nowadays has hype moments, power of friendship, and fanservice. I mean did everyone just forget about One Piece? It literally follows all the tropes but like x50. Also Im pretty sure Mashima reuses designs as an homage to all of his other works, they can be tracked all the way back to Rave Master. I don't really see anything wrong with a mangaka honoring his other works tbh.

My headcannon is that this chalupa is a tsundere that actually loves fairytail but pretends to hate it

Like... I've seen at least like 10 fairy tail universe stories. That weren't fairy tail. I don't think fairy tail was the first one either.

The charecters that are being fan-serviced look like children.

This isn’t in a “People saying Friran looks like a child because she’s skinny” way. Friran is an adult. She’s drawn like an adult. Those people are just weird.

Okay look im a fan of fairy tail BUT I CAN UNDERSTAND THE HATRED FOR IT, ESPECIALLY THE WHOLE FANSERVICE OF LUCY.. I looked up Fairy Figures, you can tell how that went if we’re talking about fan service. 0:22

I honestly like the character designs of the female characters to the point that I'm like actively dreading the inevitable fanservice shots.

I feel like this artist is better at making "cute" girls and not "sexy" ones which makes the fanservice even more cringe in my eyes. I haven't been a teen I forever though so maybe it's just a "not the target audience thing" 💀

As much as I love fairy tail just for the comedy goals and random fun moments...I do at the same time hate it because if we remove everything there isn't really a story much. So I also criticize the same show I love 🤷

I like the art style for Fairy Tail, but that's about the only thing I like from that series. Oh and some of the types of magic. I guess the series does a good job at introducing interesting types of magic.

I have no defense for Fairy Tail's failings, but let's give Hiro Mashima credit: at least he didn't write Farmagia. It was overseen by Shinji Ishihira, the old director of the Fairy Tail anime, which added and exaggerated a bunch of stupid gags and character catchphrases, and dumbed it down from a punkish but kind of fun story into safe kiddy slop.
Ishihira's idea (I kid you not, he tweeted about it) was to take the video game Farmagia was based on and make it as if Mashima himself were to adapt it into a manga. Instead, it turned out like a Fairy Tail filler arc, which runs on all the dumb stuff added to the Fairy Tail anime. And if this is how Ishihira sees Mashima's work, then I'd rather stick with the stuff Mashima writes himself.

It was pretty terrible anime overall.
