Diglett’s technically the first pokemon designed with Satoshi Tajiri’s Gamefreak magazine where he drew one. It predates Pokemon as a concept as a child’s drawing, but technically the first pokemon ever designed. Sure, Rhydon may be the first pokemon coded & made specifically FOR Pokemon, but Diglett as a concept predates it.

Always found it funny that pokemon players ignore the fact that it’s very simple to just code and inject any event pokemon into a game, that can appear just as legitimate as the ones actually distributed, seed values and all. At that point, where is it right to say “legitimate” when it’s impossible to know if that was actually obtained without 3rd party software?

And the actual 5th Generation isn't the best of all neither, the core games were lineal, many Pokémon designs are ugly (they literally "went to a zoo" to make many of them) and it lacked decent spinoffs, except for PokePark 2 (it's the same generation where Pokémon Ranger died and almost the same happened to PMD, Pokémon Conquest didn't even made it to all the countries in Europe).

Emerald shiny odds being broken is low-key amazing for shiny hunting, once you have one shiny Pokemon you can aim to hit that same frame and get any other
