20 More Extinct Animals I Believe Could Still Be Alive

Video Overview & Insights

I rank on tier maker 20 more extinct animals I belive could still be alive.

If I lived in an area close to where a maybe extinct animal is believed to maybe still live, I am not so sure I would broadcast it to the world if I happen to spot something looking like that animal. If an animal is believed to maybe be extinct, it’s population is very likely both incredible fragile and very small. I probably would try and collect proof and contact the appropriate authorities to make them aware that ‘hey, this animal is likely still around here, so if you want to protect it, maybe do something’ but I don’t wanna risk tourists or heaven forbid poachers becoming aware of their survival. I would much rather an animal being thought extinct, giving it space to live on in peace, rather than disturbing the remaining population.

Foremax watches are affordable he says. Checking the website determines thats a lie. Aint no way id ever spend $1200 on a watch that looks like the shit in walmart for $20. Not all of us are millionaires and out of touch with reality.

Extinct Or Alive!!! Crowd source the funding for the show! A Go Fund Me would be uber successful I say. I would gladly donate that's for sure! I know there aren't enough species with a realistic chance of finding. But with enough money and support a season of quality episodes is a reality for sure!

I remember that when I was young in school I read a magazine by National Geographic about the Western Black Rhino and I said something along the lines of "when I grow up I'm going to go save the rhinos" not knowing that by then they were already extinct.

Wait Forrest, when you went looking for the Cape Lion, you actually I think you might have captured a West African Black Rhino on a trail camera.

I feel like scientists should stop trying to bring back the mammoth and instead bring back other species that died more recently.

Ive seen the malabar civet. Used to be a visitor all the time, 10-15 years ago, I live in Kerala in a big city too. Never seen one since. Its probably still out there, just not in the cities. They make a funny noise when out and about at night.

It's so sad an animal went exctinct in 2011. Whenever I hear about an animal going exctinct in the 1800s or 1900s it's like, whatever those people didn't know any better, but as recent as 2011?? I shared the planet with an animal that's now gone damn.

I was so confused at first with the horton plains slender loris popping up on here. Because in the primatology class I took in college, it was one of the (many many many!) living primates we had to memorize and learn about. I love Lorises and their big eyes and even did a paper comparing evolutionary differences with the night visions of the owl monkey, tarsier and this specific loris. I love them so much and I sometimes wish I had gone the primatology direction in anthropology.

Hi, I am from India, and I have seen the Malabar civet twice.

The first time was around 2–3 years ago. We spotted a baby civet in our backyard. It was bleeding from the mouth, possibly due to eating poison or from falling from a height as we heard a loud noise.

The second sighting was last week. This time it was an adult. It suddenly jumped in front of our scooter and tried to outrun us. We saw it clearly for a few moments, which is why I am confident about it.

For us locals, it does not feel like an extinct species, but rather a very rare one. Local people call this animal “verugu.”

4:00 Give the locals disposable cameras and tell them they'll get money if they snap a photo of the hippos, then! Can't be that hard.

When I was in Las Palmas I saw what I thought was an iguana. It was distinct from other smaller lizards that were everywhere. It was on a more isolated part of the island, but near a road.

my hot take based on no evidence at all is that trilobites have to be out there somewhere in the deep ocean, makes no sense to me for one of the most dominant and adaptive species in the planet's history to get completely wiped out, along with the precedence of coelacanths surviving in the deep ocean
