Super useful Gary, thank you. I can't Search an external SSD formatted APFS, have to use Find Any File. Now that's annoying.....
00:00 Intro
00:22 1. Clicking the Desktop Hides Windows
I want to get rid of the daily summary from the Reminders app? Have tried things before with no luck.
01:24 2. Double-Click The Title Doesn't Fill Screen
02:10 3. Window Tiling Leaves a Big Gap
Macmost is really a gold mine for mac users!
02:55 4. Window Tile Dragging Gets In the Way
03:41 5. The Dock Uses Too Much Space
If only the green button could be set to zoom as it always used to be. Now we only get zoom by double clicking and the windows forget their previous size. That is a 20 year old bug by now apple never cared to fix.
04:10 6. Dock Recents Section
04:32 7. Launching an App Brings Windows Back
Why are my folders especially app folder and apps refreshes so slowly after restart?!
It just happened quite recently... Never had that issue before...
I'm on Mac Studio M3 with 64 GB of Ram and plenty of HD storage left...
I have tried to cleat Caches, etc; but it didn't make a difference
05:38 8. Cursor and Highlight Colors
06:45 9. Disable Caps Lock
I want to make it so every application opens on the same display, same space, same window layout that it did last time.
07:14 10. Turn Off Caps Lock Indicator
07:56 11. Too Many Notifications
A big one for me is the delay for the autohiding dock. I like to set the autohide delay to zero and the time modifier to 0.4. I pasted a terminal command to fix that but it was filtered as spam. I suggest looking it up! I've wished this setting actually lived in System Preferences for years.
09:12 12. Remove Dock Icon Badges
09:44 13. Trackpad Gesture Brings Up Notification Center
Please, please, please, has anyone found a terminal command to make the cursor ALWAYS be black regardless of the application? Since Sequoia and Tahoe, I have made more typing/erasing/highlighting mistakes than I've made in the past thirty years on Macs because of fat, coloured cursors. Yes, I am that old!
10:26 14. Safari Automatically Opens Downloads
10:41 15. Safari Jumps To New Tabs
mac finder Annoyance on mac mac tahoe 26.4,2 when removing drives it will linger on the side bar with a - simple to fix it rekaunch finder or reboot
11:05 16. Spotlight Results Are Too Long
11:51 17. Menu Bar Missing In Full Screen
Great advice, thanks
12:32 18. Full Screen With Multiple Displays
14:16 19. Screenshots Saving To the Desktop
How do I turn off the feature of when I want to make a window bigger it doesn't make it automatically full screen. Very annoying setting!!
15:17 20. Finder Warning Messages

@film669I use a 75 inch 8K TV as a monitor. How can I set screen size and resolution on my Mac without everything being tiny or having to use a lower resolution in the Display Settings?
@Kevin6t8One of your best works so far!! Thanks for being so patient and thorough in making this video.
@jarofclay762These tips are everything! Don’t mind me as I change my settings 😊
@gnawty4662Great info,you are a smart apple. You should number the videos, so people can find them again. You go kind of fast.
@rushl.workman7138Great hints, thanks
@krb3dThanks for a very useful video. I just left System Settings/Desktop & Dock open off the side of my browser so I could pause the video and make changes as appropriate.

Hey Gary,
Really good video. In my Tahoe 26 the windows I call up are small and try as i might I have to stretch them out every single time. Why wont they stay large? thanks
Love this. The first one has been driving me crazy!
@BryanMcPhersonThanks, dear, for the very helpful content for mac users..i am able to learn a lot from this video.
@askaslamMost people arent saages and actully use the desktop 😛
@KSTwist13For the regular person, not submerged in the juicy, complex world of Mac, we just want to know where the goddam Downloads disappeared! You would think Apple would tend to the common sense shit first.
@stevenrossi1735Thank you!
@Cavid.M6015Gary, thanks for all of these "fixes"! I just purchased a newer Mac and I'm now experiencing Tahoe 26. These fixes really helped me to customize my new Mac the way I wanted. Your tutorials are excellent. Keep them coming!
@jimsaddler942@macmostvideo Thank you so much! very thorough! At 05:38 you talk about Cursor and Highlight Colors. I was so excited when I saw that, but then disappointed to find out that I can’t find a setting like that on my iPad. For years I have been calling Apple and sending feedback about the fact that there’s a dark blue vertical cursor in Reminders in dark mode on the iPad, which I can barely see. Do you know if there’s a way to make that cursor a brighter blue or yellow or something that shows up on a black background?
@StephanieMonroeGreat Vid bro! Thanks so much!
@dezdurhamThank you for all your videos ----
@edsteinmetz3328🆘🆘🆘 Satanic emojies!
@PATIESASSARUNASNOTIFICATIONS: How do I get Messenger to stop asking me to log in? (it's off , notifications off, but it still asks)
@feelslikefar50thank you very much! this video has made a lot for my mental health hahaha
@thiagonesWhy am I getting annoying news notifications, where the calendar notifications should be?
@frankfeldman6657New to Mac mini and find your videos very useful. Now Subscribed.. 👍 Thank You...
@yorkshiresfinestpairHello I switched from Windows to Mac mini M4 to have it as my work machine. On windows you can click on slider for any function like exposure, contrast or anything else and slide left or right with mouse wheel. But on Mac this is somehow not available feature. Is there any apps to go "around" it? So I could keep using Mac and not throw it in the bin? Thanks you :)
@radomirpesek8720Thanks! Just made the jump last week and am liking what I’ve found on your channel.
I’ll take some minor annoyances over what Windows has become. I’ll be watching a whole bunch of your videos to make the jump even easier.
Let me get this, people are annoyed because they turn off the caps lock, instead of just hitting the caps lock key again??? Are you serious….
@MastersofCriminologyWay too many settings.Drives me nutz!
@Mr.-J-2024only 20 annoyances?
@Mr.-J-2024Having worked with Apple computers for about 25 years now, the arrival of Tahoe OS 26.1 has disrupted my work habits. It's incredibly frustrating. Fortunately, your various videos have been a huge help in reconfiguring the system settings to suit my needs. And I realy miss Launchpad.
@pierregregoire9709Cat on the keyboard. Now my YouYube comments インCぃう Japanese is sometimes shown. How can I eliminate this?
@JackBlack-ii1ipThe most annoying thing for me is that MAC in their infinite wisdom changed the tags from the full width of a folder to just a dot at the end, this was always a great way for me to separate or group files in a large list in one folder.
@Lee-x9d9zHi Mac - thank you for that all very useful - I have a problem with my Mac in that sometimes for no apparent reason there screen enlarges and I can't get ti back to normal - any advice would be appreciated
@Gripton11Im sorry as a windows and Mac user foir decades some of these things are just stupid. Explaining why things are the way they are is important.quit all windows for example. But i started to write thi when you ignored notifications and specifically this is whats Focus mode is about. !!!!
