1993 Motorcraft Quality Parts 500 from Atlanta Motor Speedway | NASCAR Classic Full Race Replay

Video Overview & Insights

Relive the 1993 Motorcraft Quality Parts 500 from Atlanta Motor Speedway that saw the Wood Brothers hold on to win with driver Morgan Shepherd. The win was Shepherd's fourth and final win in the NASCAR Cup Series.

*POINTS STANDINGS and WINS before the 1993 ATLANTA 500 (4 of 30)*

#18 Dale Jarrett (490pts with 1 win, GM)

#3 Dale Earnhardt (-1, GM)

#6 Mark Martin (-34, Ford)

#15 Geoff Bodine (-45, Ford)

#2 Rusty Wallace (-68 with 1 win, GM)

#7 Alan Kulwicki (-75, Ford)

#27 Hut Stricklin (-92, Ford)

#28 Davey Allison (-105 with 1 win, Ford)

#55 Ted Musgrave (-109, Ford)

#24 Jeff Gordon (-119, GM)

Drivers listed are the season's current top10, last season's champion and whatever race winner that doesn't fit any of those 2 descriptions. I'm using the unsponsored names for races and in Atlanta’s case the earlier race is the Atlanta 500 while the later one is the Dixie 500.

This race was on a saturday, delayed a week because of the "Storm of the Century" blizzard! I was there and it was incredibly cold that day.

Play every weekend!

There's not too many that could have saved it like he did at 16:06. Most would have overcorrected. Unbelievable.

Older races is where it's at. Wish I could hear what the one analyst is saying, I think it's Buddy Baker. It's hard to make out more than half of what he is saying. I get that racing is LOUD but the announcers should be able to be heard and understood.

Not the race Alan Kulwicki would have wanted, especially as this was his first race back at Atlanta after he clinched the title in November 1992. Little did we know that it would be his last race in Atlanta.

Talking of Atlanta, Morgan Shepherd, the majority of his 4 wins coming at Atlanta, like he said "thank god for Atlanta,"

Nascar channel uploads races on 720p🤔 , while other channels be on 480p with retro commercials like the original satélite Raw 🛰 📡 feed.

I was hoping for a 2011 Advocare 500 battle between Jeff Gordon & Jimmie Johnson. Sigh, whatever, guess I won’t mind watching a race that Jeff Gordon almost won 🤷🏻‍♂️🙃

So Black flags matter just did a video about Morgan Shepherd.
