I've wanted to visit San Antonio since I first saw the movie Cloak & Dagger in 1984. It features almost all the places you mention plus the Tower of Life building.

I’m from Philadelphia, and when I first visited Texas I wanted to see the big 5 cities. Houston, San Antonio, Dallas, Austin, and Fort Worth. Well San Antonio was by far my favorite out of the group. It was the most charming, historic, and interesting city in Texas. Sort of like the Texas version of Boston or Philly.

I'm interested in knowing free places to visit or of the scenery is beautiful

I’d stay away from Tourist areas, I prefer local venues such as the RIM and Pearl area. I live in NE part of metro, Austin is only 45 mins from me, not 2 hours.

Houston is 2 hours away from SA metro.

Just a Head's up for y'all, the Alamo and SA Zoo areas are under major constructions. So y'all might want to update this video at some point. I think 2 other Major points of Interests in this area (I am speaking as a local) are Morgan's Wonderland (in SA) and Schlitterbahn (in New Braunfels). Morgan's Wonderland is the first (and only) theme park that caters to people of special needs and is all about inclusivity. People who visit, if they have someone with special needs, the entire party is able to gain free entrance. They do so much for this community and the organization has expanded to build a sports facility and camp, amongst other things. Schlitterbahn is still the best Water Park in the US. If people plan on visiting Texas during the Summer months, that's a must do. Thanks for creating this video!

I live in SE Texas and have visited SA numerous times and never had a bad experience. I would love to live in the area. There are so many cool places to visit within a reasonable distance.

I strongly disagree with your hotel recommendations. I am a frequent visitor to San Antonio and enjoy staying at the historic Menger Hotel, the oldest continuously operating hotel west of the Mississippi. The Menger is right next to the Alamo and legendary folks like Oscar Wilde, Babe Ruth, President Teddy Roosevelt, Mae West and Roy Rogers and Dale Evans stayed there. The Menger houses the delightful Sisters Grimm Ghost Tours, which offer very entertaining and insightful walking ghost tours and bus ghost tours.

You also neglected to mention the Briscoe Museum of Western Art, San Fernando Cathedral and historic St. Mary’s and St. Joseph’s Catholic Churches.

I can’t believe you didn’t mention the Menger and the Crockett Hotels in your discussion of downtown hotels. Both are adjacent to the Alamo and a short stroll to the River Walk.

Not sure why almost every video about San Antonio features the puffy taco at Ray's Drive Inn restaurant. I've lived here all my life and have yet to go there. There are some of the great museums in town, such as the Briscoe Western Art Museum, The Witte, the McNay modern art museum, the San Antonio Museum of Art, and the Doseum, the museum for kids. Other sites are the San Antonio Zoo, the Botanical Garden, and the Japanese Tea Garden. Just for kicks, there is Six Flags Fiesta Texas and Sea World.

Planning a trip and this video was very helpful. Any thoughts about going to the San Antonio Stock Show and Rodeo?

Just do not understand why the Alamo is in San Antonio , Texas. Most humans feel connected if they can touch such places or things that is or was connected to the place that is in our history. If you wish to touch the land where so many Great leaders gave their lives you will need to go father south in Texas to Alamo , Texas. This is the place where David Crockett and Jim Bowie as well as many others gave their live for the Great State of Texas, and the United States. I guess its just closer for people to come and see something that is hundreds of miles closer ?

We are an 1 hour and 10 mins away from Austin not 2 hours unless you considering traffic

Keep San Antonio weird

Great Video!

Just got back from SA, Canyon Lake (which is drying up), New Braunsfels, and Austin. It was fun, lots of good food, but also lots of driving with minimal scenic views along the way.
Overall, my favorite thing was stoping in the town of Gruene, waiting for a table at a restaurant under the shade trees with a bottle of Lonestar and just chilling. That was probably the calmest feeling I ever had. Looking around at other people sitting at the many picnic tables around us, I could tell it was just as peaceful to them, as my family and I!

Looking forward to go there again, I'm planning to relocate there and this is the second time I'll be visiting just to explore my options, I get what some people say about safety and crime, but that probably depends where you at and where you live, at this point I just don't want to live in Washington state anymore, it's making me depressed.

Dallas is bigger than Houston and San Antonio. At least when you indlude FortWorth but same difference
