10 things travelers DON’T like about Israel 🇮🇱 (and what to do about them)

Video Overview & Insights

Israel is expensive, crowded, there is no personal space, and the slow drivers drive in the middle lane…

I will visit Israel some day

One of the most interesting places on earth 🇮🇱

— @johnperry5660

I want you to visit Israel. My whole channel and website is dedicated to encouraging you to do just that. However, there are some things that you are not going to like and so in this video I’m going to talk about what bothers tourists in Israel and, more importantly, what you can do about it.

For all my tips, accommodation recommendations, digital tours and booklets, check out my internet site - https://www.travelingisrael.com/shop-products/

In short! We Israelis are not very patient t!!!

I’m going to guess, without watching the video, that it’s our job to change what we don’t like and not Israel?

I want to come to Israel but I want to meet local people. The people that I see in the videos singing and dancing and celebrating together. I also want to learn Hebrew perhaps I can combine both wishes? I'm 84 years old will that make any difference? Thank you for everything you do for your country and for the world!

Just got back from a week in Israel. Winter is an awesome time to visit. There were not many tourists, maybe because of the war. I agree - it’s quite expensive. But I loved it. Shabbat is easy to manage if you plan ahead. I walked to the Israel Museum, which was very good.

1. Driving slow in the middle lane is pretty common in the U.S. and Canada also. 2. I don't see much difference between Israeli drivers and New York drivers. My main aggravation is the traffic on routes 2 and 4 during rush hours. During the Covid, when public transport was shut down, everyone began driving. after the pandemic ended and the quarantine was lifted, lots of people didn't go back to public transportation and kept driving. The traffic was terrible.

Although you are very fluent in English and easy to understand. However, you will always speak with a heavy French accent . You came to Australia and the United States too late in your life ( older than the age of 13 ) to obtain native English sounding speech.

51 year old American male, i will be making my first trip to isreal in early March, traveling alone. I am doing well learning and mapping out my trip and stays. I will be looking for a good licensed guide for 1 or 2 days of my week-long trip, perhaps we will cross paths.

OH MY GOD! THESE EUROPEANS HAVE TAKEN THE COUNTRY FROM THE PALESTINIAN PEOPLE AND THEY ARE PROMOTING PALESTINIAN DISHES THAT ARE HUNDREDS OF YEARS OLD AS ISRAELI ! They are NOT indigenous to the land but they have taken and continue to steal Palestinian lands and appropriate their culture. And it is not a Hamas Israeli WAR. Have you not paid attention to the massacres? If you don’t know the real story by now you have been living under a rock. Be curious. Read. Learn the truth.

Great advice. Was in Israel about three weeks ago. Drive from Jerusalem to Masada at 0600. Arrived early. First cable car. Had Masada to myself for more than an hour on a Tuesday.

Wish to know the truth about Israel ?! It is hot as hell !!! and the insane levels of humidity in the air are suffocating and simply make it unbearable. Your brain is being cooked during the awful season of this bloody summer by the sun's intense radiation - a cruel merciless sun.
It is like living in a hot sauna while wearing clothes.
I don't recommend anyone to come here.
I don't live but merely surviving day by day, never stop sweating, tired and nervous in this middle eastern damp and sticky swamp, noisy, over crowded and violent.
Stay away from israhell..

A 20-year-old American from Florida was allegedly beaten to death by Israeli settlers while visiting his family in the West Bank, according to Palestinian health officials and his family.

Sayfollah "Saif" Musallet was killed in the town of Sinjil, north of Ramallah, according to the Palestinian Health Ministry in the West Bank.

i just came back from Israel. i tried for 5 years to get there. i went on a very very busy expensive tour. i saw a lot of great places but time was always a big deal to our tour guide. i never did get to walk down the shuk and taste the food. and i got 45 mins in Yad Vashem 😡😡. i of course would love to go back. i would stay iN a B and B and take it a lot slower. of course then there’s the money to get there. zero. anyway i’m done. PS it was very safe even though the bus that picked us up parked right next to the crater made by the missile that almost hit the airport. oh but not to panick. we had no time to check it out. we had 2 times we had to take cover and it was in the bottom floor of the hotel. it was nothing but it made me feel sorry for jewish people who live that way😢😢😢😢 it’s safe!!!

I've just seen this video, was it was put out before 07 October 2023 terrorist events? I first visited Israel in 1974, the year after the Yom Kippur war, my father's friend (an English man) lived in Herzliya Pituach, he took us to Safed, or Zafed depending on the nationality of the person who wrote the road signs ... the friend said German speaking Jews had used the letter "Z" whilst most others would use "S". I can't say, but at least Tel Aviv is easy for all! Other words, it's the American habit of changing the spelling that is the problem "colour" into color" "travelling" into "traveling" being two good examples. I believe the Jerusalem Post newspaper has now adopted the US abomination of spelling, the world has changed. On my last visit to Israel I hired a car, I didn't like the way to fill it up with petrol, here in the UK I never pay first, and never give any personal ID (except the loyalty card which gets me money off future purchases). Hoping to visit again this year, will use the railways but may hire a car to reach Rosh Hanikra and see some of the north of the country. As for food, I'm not a street food person, I will be staying in a self-catering hotel so look forwards to using supermarkets with occasional meals out, I have friends who have just made aliyah so they will guide me too.

Oren, regarding spelling in English, I won’t get into it here, but you may want to ask a native speaker of English to explain the pronunciation of short and long vowels in English. Then you would understand why some consonants are doubled and vowels are so often “silent.”

A non-native speaker of English told me that this hadn’t been explained to her previously and that she found it revelatory.

Are taxi drivers in Israel Muslims/Arabs? I wouldn't want to take a taxiride with Arabs/Muslims in the driver seat. I don't trust them especially after Oct 7th.

Ive been to Israel 13 time for work over the last 35 years. I've spent time all over the country. Yes it's a bit expensive, but I must say, Israel is a very enjoyable place to visit. The food there is absolutely delicious, sometimes I had no clue what I was eating, but it was good, and a lot of it too.
