El Tiempo Sucks. Could have walked down the street and got Ninfas, however both are overpriced. Gringos is by far the better Tex-Mex. Shipleys is pretty basic, for Kolaches the Original Kolache Shoppe on Telephone Rd is the best in the city.

Way better places to go to for kolache than Shipley's their donuts are ok, but kolache not so much

I'm a little late to this video. It's about time someone hit some good places vs what the internet asks you to go 100% .. you mixed it up. I'm from Houston. if you ever come to Houston I can show you the restaurants that are not Tex-mex or Texas BBQ places., Indian or Indigenous, Japanese, Brazilian, Serbian, Polish, German, Cambodian.. etc. I have been to all the places you went to. You are about 95% on the taste . Good video. I just don't go to that shipleys since now its own by California. It used to be texas. Good job with TMO on the description . Soy Pinoy is so funny I love them people. My ex Pinay came to visit me her in Houston from the Philippines, she loves that place, with another of couple of Filipino places. Come back to Houston. keep up your food videos in General!! Dzień dobry, wracam do Houston.

He didn't get to any of our awesome steak houses, Asian food, Papa's, and or any seafood. Houston has sooooo much to offer in good eats.

It blows my mind when I see food vloggers come through with these videos. Being born and raised here all these spots are really ā€œnormalā€ to me. I didn’t notice it until I went outside the state. Many other states, I rate the food as ā€œpassableā€ lol. I almost never am able to say something is genuinely good. That’s very humbling to know our food really is that good. Fyi, ninfas and goode company cantina are the best tex Mex I’ve ever been to. Surprised you didn’t get a few more donut options at Shipley’s. Their glaze when it’s fresh is the best donut I’ve ever had. It’s definitely a local nostalgic favorite but it’s really up there when it comes to the best donuts around. Especially from a local chain.

Brisket & Rice, amazing!

@tanyadilworth1268

That's not Shipleys, only 1 location that's is Shipleys and that is off of Ella and is the best location in Houston

@vincep691
@

Dang, went to Houston and didn’t eat any actual authentic Mexican food.. just Tex mex and some pretentious joint..

@commentsforcomments3018
@

Bro how did you go to Shipleys and not eat a glazed donut??? That’s what they’re known for lol. Their kolaches suck in my opinion. Born and raised in the H and I’ve been eating donuts there all my life, they are the best!

This would be nice if everything in Houston wasn’t so fucking far away

As a native Houstonian living abroad(Oklahoma) several of my favorite places. First time I ate truth was on the freeway before the Houston location opened. Was there the first week they finally opened and can say it’s better than the original location. Great folks. I miss food diversity.

Where is your Dallas brisket video???

Also…
I’m Texan and I’ll tell you that the BEST BBQ I have ever had is while in Missouri. They have Texas style, white BBQ, sweet BBQ and the absolute best one is much harder to find. This is Black BBQ. It’s dark with some major heat to it. I dream of it every time I eat any BBQ.

Anofher bearded "food expert" videoing himself feeding his face, talking with his mouth full, smacking lips, hat backwards and cussing. Nobody wants to watch you eat dude. Give us the bottom line, show the food, close the video.

Yo-yos hotdogs
Original Kolache Shoppe.

If you’re going to hit up shipleys you need to go early in the morning when the plain glazed is fresh out of the fryer.

If you didn't eat at Aga's, then you didn't eat. Check the reviews.

Over priced BBQ in the Heights. Try places outside the Houston area for great BBQ at better prices.

At El Tiempo, the fillet mignon fajitas are to die for! More expensive, but well worth it. The 1/4 lb order is enough for me and my wife, & still hadĀ leftovers.

@brisketwizard8004

Look, these are all decent choices, but why do all youtubers seem to pick the most toast trappy places in this city. For each of these genres, there are much better restaurants than the ones that they always pick. The reason why people say houston is so underrated, as far as food goes, is that everyone is always picking the most overrated food places and not the best ones.

The Ragin' Cajun original location on Richmond inner loop. I lived in NYC for 20yrs, and every time I came home to visit, my sister and I would eat here. A legendary restaurant. Also, Lucy Ethiopian on the southwest freeway. AMAZING!
