What We Cover:
Fantasy & Supernatural – Epic worlds, magic, and dark mysteries.
Thank you! Now my search is over!!
Will begin with The Last Kingdom
Science Fiction & Futuristic Thrillers – Mind-bending concepts and space adventures.
Action & Adventure – High-stakes battles, heroic journeys, and intense storytelling.
Why are some here getting their panties in a bunch about the historical accuracy of these shows?! It's entertainment - if you want accuracy go watch a documentary, jeez! I can tell just how much fun y'all must be
Crime, Mystery & Thrillers – Unsolved cases, suspenseful plots, and psychological twists.
Horror & Dark Stories – Bone-chilling tales that keep you on edge.
I’m not a prude by any stretch of the imagination, but Black Sails just had too much modern cussing for me. I just couldn’t do it.
Drama & Romance – Emotional stories that leave a lasting impact.
Comedy & Feel-Good Films – Laughter, fun, and unforgettable characters.
Hate the Chatgpt script
History, War & Biopics – True stories and legendary events.
Animation & Anime – Stunning visuals and storytelling beyond imagination.
I've read all of the Bernard Cornwell's books in the "Saxon Warlord" series. The writers at Netflix made major changes - all for the worse - from Cornwell's narrative. It's well enough done, but it could have been much better. When Netflix gets its hands on a story they'll make it worse - every point of controversy in the (very good) series "The Crown" directs the viewer to the most unsavory conclusion possible. (I might add Netflix did the same in the much acclaimed "Queen's Gambit." The book, written by Walter Trevis, who also wrote "The Hustler", pictures Beth Harmon as finally reaching her peak when she cleans up her act with drugs, booze etc. In the Netflix production Harmon wins because she's on drugs. Anyone who has played series chess realizes that's insane.)

Rome should be there,its one of the oldest gripping series
@sumanghosh7064Not sure on Netflix but "Hell on Wheels" is EXCELLENT!
@sheritamitchell1036Marco Polo was great until it wasn't.
@BobK58Barkeaters was excellent. It's a shame it only ran for one season. The book ran through the entire history of the families involved in and affected by the logging industry. I don't know if it was on Netflix or not.
@Liantha2846Frontier , needs to be up there . It was about North American fur trade in colonial Canada. One of the best .
@tomsawyer8818AMC The Terror! Gripping tale
@stevewalker3841Black sails - very good
@catpod3872One can never unsee Vikings...great show....fantastic in fact. But the Last Kingdom grows for every time I watch it. The idea of a weekend where the fridge is stocked and all I am doing is to jump into the Last Kingdom and just enjoy it is pure heaven.
@happydays577Death By Lightning is so good.
@missyslifeblogWatched 7 of them already. KNIGHTFALL can qualify for this list.
@patrichards8855I've seen all of these except House of Guinness, so I went to the IMDB to see if I might be interested. I won't be watching it. Good for you if you are gay, but I'm tired of "the message" in my entertainment.
@questerperipatetic4861Forgot Peaky Blinders-but loved The Last Kingdom!
@michelecuseo7714The Empress is the absolute best
@cindydietrich7509Just remember another good one but it's not a series it's a movie, "Outlaw/King". It stars Chris Pine and Florence Pugh as Robert the Bruce and his second wife Elizabeth de Burge. Shot on location in Scotland, historically accurate, well written, well acted. Worth the 2+ hrs.
@DdM12377"Shaka Zulu" it was briefly on Netflix when they first started. You want politics, Royal court intrigue, family rivalry, sex, battle scenes and a drama driven narrative? This is for you. It was all filmed on location in South Africa with African and British actors.
@DdM12377House of Guinness is complete trash!
@razorwired130I think Turn should be in this list. One of the best.
@anawiener150TURN set during the American Revolution is also excellent.
@KellyBreckenridgeAre we sure we should trust Netflix to tell us the truth about history???🙄🙄
@sharonfelix5931you need to start separating your reviews like other channels do.
@scorpfelidae2439“Historical”.
@peterpluim7912house of Guiness will be first
@HCUncategorizedLoved all the light we cannot see also loved a small light on Disney+
@michelles2299I envy anyone who hasn’t yet watched Barbarians. It was amazing.
@TheMobileGeriatricianIf you haven’t seen Vikings, not sure what you’re doing with your life.
@TheMobileGeriatrician10. Barbarians
9. House of Guinness
8. All the Light We Cannot See
7. Death by Lightning
6. Marco Polo
5. Rise of Empires: Ottoman
4. Black Sails
3. The Crown
2. Vikings
1. The Last Kingdom
Haven’t got to the end of the video, yet, so I don’t know if The Liberator is on the list. If it isn’t, it should be
@morganapendragon4951House of Guinness was hard to watch, because of over acting and a horrible sound track that was completely out of touch with the story and time
@morganapendragon4951The last kingdom is my absolute favourite
@Lehcar1The first season of Barbarians was great. I lost interested in the show when it threw a token Numidian into a war between Romans and Germans.
@fredfred4420Loved Rise of Empires the Ottoman Empire also like Roman Empire---didn't like The Crown
@kittydeplorable6218Watched all of these, they are all excellent.
@massey1479Warrior and Vikings Valhalla are my two of my favorite series, let alone historical series.
@animallovercyclistthank you! barbarian sounds right up my alley. and i just started your video, i have no idea what else you cover. can't wait!
ok now i can't even choose. which first? rammstein is in my brain singing deutchland so barbarian it is.
ps black sails is like seeing a really good pirate novel come to life. REALLY GOOD.
and vikings is better than last kingdom. just a bit. well, a lot. ragnar. the king. travis fimmel is incomparible in this.
