Science Fiction & Futuristic Thrillers – Mind-bending concepts and space adventures.

Action & Adventure – High-stakes battles, heroic journeys, and intense storytelling.

Why are some here getting their panties in a bunch about the historical accuracy of these shows?! It's entertainment - if you want accuracy go watch a documentary, jeez! I can tell just how much fun y'all must be

— @manuelmikewa

Crime, Mystery & Thrillers – Unsolved cases, suspenseful plots, and psychological twists.

Horror & Dark Stories – Bone-chilling tales that keep you on edge.

I’m not a prude by any stretch of the imagination, but Black Sails just had too much modern cussing for me. I just couldn’t do it.

— @mslisadianemorse

Drama & Romance – Emotional stories that leave a lasting impact.

Comedy & Feel-Good Films – Laughter, fun, and unforgettable characters.

Hate the Chatgpt script

— @Razz316

History, War & Biopics – True stories and legendary events.

Animation & Anime – Stunning visuals and storytelling beyond imagination.

I've read all of the Bernard Cornwell's books in the "Saxon Warlord" series. The writers at Netflix made major changes - all for the worse - from Cornwell's narrative. It's well enough done, but it could have been much better. When Netflix gets its hands on a story they'll make it worse - every point of controversy in the (very good) series "The Crown" directs the viewer to the most unsavory conclusion possible. (I might add Netflix did the same in the much acclaimed "Queen's Gambit." The book, written by Walter Trevis, who also wrote "The Hustler", pictures Beth Harmon as finally reaching her peak when she cleans up her act with drugs, booze etc. In the Netflix production Harmon wins because she's on drugs. Anyone who has played series chess realizes that's insane.)

More User Perspectives

@

Rome should be there,its one of the oldest gripping series

@sumanghosh7064
@

Not sure on Netflix but "Hell on Wheels" is EXCELLENT!

@sheritamitchell1036
@

Marco Polo was great until it wasn't.

@BobK58
@

Barkeaters was excellent. It's a shame it only ran for one season. The book ran through the entire history of the families involved in and affected by the logging industry. I don't know if it was on Netflix or not.

@Liantha2846
@

Frontier , needs to be up there . It was about North American fur trade in colonial Canada. One of the best .

@tomsawyer8818
@

AMC The Terror! Gripping tale

@stevewalker3841
@

Black sails - very good

@catpod3872
@

One can never unsee Vikings...great show....fantastic in fact. But the Last Kingdom grows for every time I watch it. The idea of a weekend where the fridge is stocked and all I am doing is to jump into the Last Kingdom and just enjoy it is pure heaven.

@happydays577
@

Death By Lightning is so good.

@missyslifeblog
@

Watched 7 of them already. KNIGHTFALL can qualify for this list.

@patrichards8855
@

I've seen all of these except House of Guinness, so I went to the IMDB to see if I might be interested. I won't be watching it. Good for you if you are gay, but I'm tired of "the message" in my entertainment.

@questerperipatetic4861
@

Forgot Peaky Blinders-but loved The Last Kingdom!

@michelecuseo7714
@

The Empress is the absolute best

@cindydietrich7509
@

Just remember another good one but it's not a series it's a movie, "Outlaw/King". It stars Chris Pine and Florence Pugh as Robert the Bruce and his second wife Elizabeth de Burge. Shot on location in Scotland, historically accurate, well written, well acted. Worth the 2+ hrs.

@DdM12377
@

"Shaka Zulu" it was briefly on Netflix when they first started. You want politics, Royal court intrigue, family rivalry, sex, battle scenes and a drama driven narrative? This is for you. It was all filmed on location in South Africa with African and British actors.

@DdM12377
@

House of Guinness is complete trash!

@razorwired130
@

I think Turn should be in this list. One of the best.

@anawiener150
@

TURN set during the American Revolution is also excellent.

@KellyBreckenridge
@

Are we sure we should trust Netflix to tell us the truth about history???🙄🙄

@sharonfelix5931
@

you need to start separating your reviews like other channels do.

@scorpfelidae2439

Haven’t got to the end of the video, yet, so I don’t know if The Liberator is on the list. If it isn’t, it should be

@morganapendragon4951
@

House of Guinness was hard to watch, because of over acting and a horrible sound track that was completely out of touch with the story and time

@morganapendragon4951
@

The last kingdom is my absolute favourite

@Lehcar1
@

The first season of Barbarians was great. I lost interested in the show when it threw a token Numidian into a war between Romans and Germans.

@fredfred4420
@

@kittydeplorable6218
