Great video . I was waiting anxiously for the Philippines as only recently, I found out that although they only give a 30 day stamp, you can keep extending it while in the country up to 3 YEARS and then apply for residency. I don't have the minimum income for most of those places, but I can easily live in a lot of those places you mentioned for way less than a grand a month! I'm going to Cebu later this year, as I hear it's the best island to suit my needs.. lots of beautiful beaches, small towns, less than a million in population, waterfalls to die for, mountains and thermal springs.. plus right in the centre for easy access by boat to over half a dozen other islands, including Damaguete just an hour away 😍 Why aren't more people talking about the easy visa, no proof of income required, in the Philippines, and nearly as cheap as Vietnam?! Also way friendlier people generally, more human at expressing emotions, and less robotic!!

Philippines in general is really going down hill. They’re losing their appeal. Throw in constantly being harassed for money and I’m heading to Cambodia

You have been to many great places in SE Asia, can you tell us please - are clothing dryers and dishwashing machines available? Do the showers have hot water tanks or does a scary natural gas burner fire up when you need hot water? China mostly has gas heaters that sound like they might explode 💥

The water of the sea in Penang Malaysia sucks big time. Brown and polluted. You can't see your hand if you sink it into the water. Hua Hin is more than 3 hours drive from Bangkok without too much traffic.

Last time I went to the beach in Penang, the sea was dirty and stinky. I think that's the case for most of Western Malaysia. Langkawi was nice when I went there years back. I might choose Langkawi over Penang.

Only the most virgin Pacific Ocean water that enters the Philippine Archipelago and exits to various Asian countries powered by sunlight and never ending rotation of Planet Earth. This is a perfect efficiency for free. The Gulf of Thailand is a sink pool of Malaysia, Thailand, Cambodia and South Vietnam where sewage, eternal plastics, garbage, viruses, microbes, bacteria, protozoa, etc., are trapped forever. The Philippines has hundreds of world class dive spots including WW II shipwrecks and more.

Luang Prabang was one of my favorite places, too limited to live there but so much character.
@daletalaplaya5086@evan_eh Bookmarked for further research, thank you.
@nickmiddelton7852Wow Evan! Curious how you didn't include DaLat as one of your Vietnam small towns! My favorite small city in Vietnam so far...by a lot!....and I've been to 6 or 7 of them...big and small. Think Hanoi South to HCMC.
@RobPittmanYou mean to say u can Phu Q Ouf to Phu Qouc
@rammohan1991Love the in depth details, I was looking at 34 right now to doing a degree in Asia Aslong as it was internationally recognised and as I’m an dual citizen Aus/UK I’ve decided I’ve found a degree near Pattaya in Thailand for 1/8 the price of the UK. I can’t wait to leave the UK.
@TattooedToTheMaxAbsolutely NO NEED to go to Singapore for health care or hospitals. Malaysia has some of THE best doctors, specialists and hospitals ANYWHERE full stop. Look up Sunway Medical Centre (SMC) in Sunway City KL and Gleneagles Kuala Lumpur and you won't find better.
@Morris-Minor-1953My place Dumaguite city, is nice and not crowded irea. Unlike in other cities
@arlenebandico2272what if money is no object ? where ?
@user-jm9ep3zp5gWhow! Exactly! Georgetown! You did come to the same conclusion. My favorit town in South East Asia. A good vibe and good food ☯️🙏🏻🕊️
@congruent-thoughtsMajority of the Expats in Sanur are Australian. 85% of tourists in Bali are Australian. The beach in Sanur does not have waves, it’s very calm waters so if you are a surfer you may want to live elsewhere on the island.
@elsienorbackSiem Reap is a nice place but something I noticed was that there seemed to be more Chinese ppl than locals. Majority of the businesses were owned by Chinese ppl and a bit of resentment by the locals.
@elsienorbackEverything is not on offer. Way short on anything spectator fun about live sports or significant non music arts scene. Is there a true regular live theatre company, even one bringing in touring shows? Maybe! Murals don’t count. :)
@kjdriedgerPenang gets common. Kinda. Of course getting is easy. But that’s true of anywhere. And it’s too touristy. IMO. Everywhere decent is frequented by tourists non stop. The whole island is nice. It’s good. But…
@kjdriedgerNothing from Indonesia? Wow. Not one?
@kjdriedgerHow do you legally stay long term in Vietnam as a non Vietnamese foreigner?
@glebpivbro good content but speed it up (also volume very vert low)
@carmelo7501A small city is a place with less than 50,000 a small town is with less than 25,000 what is your definition? This video is a big disappointment!
@DaNang-MeI have lived in 7 Asian countries over 27 years as a working, subsidized expat. My wife is Taiwanese. I moved from Singapore to Keelung, Northern Taiwan ( got Permanent Residency, bought a house in cash in my name (-80% discount to Taipei but 25 minutes away), live by a beach and get free healthcare which is ranked #1 and #2 on Numbeo ). If I want to visit Vietnam I get a 45 visa free and it’s 2 hours to Da Nang. Similarly I can reach anywhere in Asia North or South including Japan in 2-4 hours. Free healthcare as a retiree that works, is a big plus .
@mindcache5650What about Okinawa, Japan?
@Neo_5DAnd, don't miss out on Krabi, best beach town in Thailand
@profalbers9408Just like you mentioned Hoi An is 30 mins from Da Nang, Cha'am is 30 mins from Hua Hin, and it's light yrs better. Several light yrs actually
@profalbers9408What do you think about getting the military retirement visa in the Philippines, and then extended slow travel in some of these 1-10 retirement places you list? Any advantages/disadvantages to this idea?
@robertmacdonald8519For 🇵🇭 San Vincente or Bort Barton. Thanks for the nice and informative content!
@dimitri2322Try to check out Kuala Terengganu in Malaysia…
@Aznbackpacker8What is American culture? Americanized is literally used as a derogatory word in Europe to describe a brash, entitled, whining douche. Drugs, guns and obesity, serious % population using psychiatric drugs and everything in excess. Again, wtf is American culture?
@ennigmaaYou guys move to Asia, I hold the forth here in America. The almighty and safe America. You will come back, trust me!!! By then I should own most of the houses in America and I’ll be your landlord then because I’m that responsible American who manage the finance like I should be when I need to start that way I don’t have to scavenger hunt to search for cheap country to live. I will live comfortably here in America from your rent money.
@PrahleeMam-u7gChallenge: cool (er) weather towns edition
@ZikitifyIt’s pronounced like See-em Reap. No sigh.
@thaixle7Your audio needs a upgrade
@tonymoretti2347you can do a top ten cheapest places to live in Vietnam ?
@son_o_dayYou're making this video to gain inside info. Lots of videos concerning living cheap. Except Taiwan.
Millionaires club. Vietnam is a no go for serious. Communist country. For those of you who really want to
Live less worrying RETIRED.. ( Hua Hin Boring) Buy a condo in Pattaya. Buy a truck . Buy a motorbike, buy a inflatable kayak. Rent free.. I started my own charity in a small amphur near buriram. That solves the issue of buying a condo. Give it away to your charity when you croak. In Thailand, use a service for yearly extension.
So easy .. walk i to immigration for 5 minutes once per year. I give them 200 baht every 3 months for check in.
Thailand health care is way better than Vietnam. Vietnam lures you in .. then you find out ..
❤️ it
@showcaseromeHua hin road to bkk is not an easy link , railway? Hellish .
@keystonemiltecThese are all places with beaches but if beaches are not your thing and hills are, then check out this hidden gem called Ipoh. A sleepy town 2 hours drive each way between George Town and Kuala Lumpur.
@QantzThis was good. Just came up randomly....when u said " I have a special word 4 U" 😅 Thank you ❤
@mariapierce2707I lived in Binan , Laguna. I can recommend it highly. It’s not on the beach but the beach is reachable. You are near Alabang so you have access to The Asian Hospital which is very modern. You can bicycle towards Tagaytay through the back roads. Scuba diving is about an hours drive to Anilao. My friends and I would dorm it at Planet Dive. Go early Saturday morning. Get 5 dives Saturday and 2-3 Sunday. Boat, dives, dorm and food for less than $200. Divers will know that’s the cost of a two tank dive in a lot of places. Want a weekend away on an island, drive to Batangas and catch a ferry to Peurto Galara. When you are there you can zip around the island on a scooter, go snorkeling along the Manila Channel, chill on White Beach, rent a jet ski, go hiking up the mountains and more. I’m not a slick YouTuber, but I have tons of videos on my channel of diving, cycling and travelling around the Philippines from my 4 years there
@rockinrodlittleEverything is a colonial town :D
