Helpful captions and approachable examples make comprehension straightforward Do you map out captions first or record, then annotate? I also make short practice recaps and would be thankful for any feedback you can kindly offer.

Thank you Keith, I enjoyed it a lot.

Here are my examples:

To drum something into someone:

My boss always drums the importance of taking notes into us, but we still forget to do it.

To stir up:

Jessica likes to stir things up at home, often she says things that irritates her brother.

To settle down:

During the thunderstorm, everyone was screaming, but now everyone is settling down.

To crack up:

The comedian’s jokes were hilarious; I cracked up a few times.

To stand in for someone:

I was on medical leave yesterday and Abraham stood in for me at work.

To fend for yourself:

After he started his business, he had to fend for himself, writing proposals and finding funds for his projects.

To delve into something:

Once JFK assassination records were released, the journalists delved into them.

To dive into something:

After the training, she dived into writing a proposal for her project.

To reckon on something:

We were reckoning on 15 people to join us our training, instead 40 people turned up and we had to buy more refreshments in the middle of training.

To drift off:

The driver was driving fast, I got a headache and started to drift off when we hit the traffic.
