Lovely ! tfs, I've Subbed : ) Thank-you

— @cindyglass5827

30:45 – Kalamazoo (1942)

Catchy, cheeky, and a hit with fans — another standout with The Modernaires.

I'm a fan of the swing genre of Jazz circa 1930's - 1940's. Whilst Millers music was very popular, it represented the commercial side of the industry, rather than what most of the kids were dancing to at the time (a bit like what you would see on Top of the Pops, rather than what you would dance to in the clubs). Sadly, it also seems that Miller himself was a womaniser and not the clean cut image portrayed by Stewart in the movie.

— @realsteviem

34:11 – A Nightingale Sang in Berkeley Square (1940)

A gentle, nostalgic ballad brimming with wartime sentiment.

i feel so young.

— @LoopyPompkin545

37:50 – I've Got a Gal in Kalamazoo (1942)

Snappy and playful — another wartime hit with toe-tapping charm.

— @mal_2867

41:04 – Don't Sit Under the Apple Tree (1942)

A vocal gem filled with longing and joy — perfect for dancing with your sweetheart.

Your chapters are mislabeled. They are out of order from what's really playing, starting I believe, with Don't Sit under the Apple Tree. Just for your information. I do hope you're able to correct it. I love this lineup of music. I thoroughly enjoyed it. Thank you

— @sheilaalexander7324

44:33 – Sunrise Serenade (1939)

A mellow, elegant tune paired often with "Moonlight Serenade" — perfect symmetry.

❤❤❤❤

— @waraira.167

48:09 – Perfidia (1941)

A hauntingly beautiful Latin-tinged instrumental showing Miller’s range.

This Glenn Miller playlist is perfect for:

• Relaxing with vintage music

Вор музыки, делец. Он зарабатывал на присваивании музыки черных музыкантов. Помер ворюга и хорошо, плохо что его считают композитором

— @1948d-rms

• WWII-themed events or film settings

• Studying, reading, or background ambiance

My father was just a teenager when he set foot on Omaha Beach. This was his music and I grew up with it. It shaped my musical tastes for life. While I grew up with rock all around I was very picky about what I chose to listen to. It had to be truly "musical" . I enjoyed the big band and what my friends called "old fashioned music" of the big band singers. Bobby Darin, Mel Torme. Frank Sinatra, Louis Armstrong. Nat King Cole, Dean Martin. I don't regret a minute of it. It opened up an appreciation for music on a level that many never understand.
You hear that up there Dad? Thanks for that.

— @Vern-r7c

• Lovers of 1940s swing and jazz nostalgia

• Big band dance halls and retro parties

IMO they couldn't have gotten a more talented actor and gentleman to play Mr. Miller. Mr. Stewart was the greatest 110% as he was on ever movie he ever made. He was just as comfortable in a three piece tux as he was on the back of a horse. He made you believe he was the character he was portraying. I believe one of his best movies was Miracle on 34th Street.

— @terrycollier3688

Going to see Glenn Miller Orchestra on April 19th in honor of my dad so I came here to familiarize myself. We had to listen to him every Sunday on the way to church. We begged for KC Kasem top 40 but Glenn won more times than not. 😂

I grew up listening to this & Italian music. I have a lot of beautiful memories of my mom making sauce on Sunday mornings while listening to the AM radio station that played Italian music from 7-11. I miss those days. I miss my mom more. She passed almost 2 years ago & I miss her terribly.

When I hear these songs I think of my mother and father dancing. Each day I thank them for giving me the music that I grew up listening too. And yes I loved to dance to this music.
