1 Hour Chinese Immersion|I’m No Longer Weird and I Lost My Spark|HSK 4-6+

Video Overview & Insights

#chineseculture #comprehensibleinput #maomikainchina

Thank you for spending time with me today!
As I wrote in my channel profile, these long podcast-style videos are a space where I express myself in Chinese and share the things I genuinely care about.
If you enjoy this kind of immersion content, I’m truly happy you’re here.
If this episode isn’t your style, feel free to explore my other lighter videos, like the gaming series and daily-life episodes.
Thank you for your support, and I hope you have a beautiful day.

If you’d like, share one small thing that make you feel a bit weird. 💙

In this episode, I share exciting news—my channel is officially monetized! I talk about my journey, the ups and downs of following a detailed plan, and my reflections on personal growth.

I also dive into why I’ve been hesitant to call my hobbies “weird” and how I’ve learned to embrace my unique traits instead. From childhood experiences, my love for writing, to exploring hotels and finding creative inspiration through friendships, I share stories about self-expression, creativity, and navigating life’s complexities.

Where in China are you from? Like what area is your accent from? Thanks ❤❤

If you’ve ever felt misunderstood, struggled with self-expression, or simply want to hear about someone’s personal journey of growth and creativity, this episode is for you.

8:36 背调 pinyin should be bei4 diao4 instead of bei4 tiao2. I got confused because the pinyin in the subtitles was different from how Maomikain pronounced it.

聽起來你在談戀愛對自己的水平目標等等很清楚,這個性格有用。其實不只關於談戀愛,也對工作。很棒!

You may not be weird, but I think you have an unusual way of expressing yourself. It feels like a combination of Chinese and foreign speaking habits. Thanks for uploading and sharing, I enjoyed learning with your stories.

Hi, thanks for the very honest video. I might actually be the weird one when it comes to "hobbies" 😆 . I mean I could add visiting a lot of coffee shops and watching far too many Korean & Chinese romantic comedies on Netflix to my list 😅. I ask myself if a person with a PhD should not rather be writing another research paper during that time...
I guess I might be one of those "suckers" who still believe in real love and enjoy it to see relationships work out between people who are really in love with each other.

About "spark": I lost mine more than once before. It was only during Covid-lockdowns when forced to sit at home alone and rest a bit that I realised I no longer had enough free time or energy to spend on what really made me happy; I was stuck in a job I am good at and which pays well, but there is little opportunity to be creative and also does not align with my own principles and ethics....I think that type of job situation could have drained energy and motivation which one needs in other areas of life? We should never look down on any type of job and some people can do any type of job and still be happy, but personally I am only really happy if I can either create something useful or help other people improve their life instead of just working so someone's business can make more money. We won't all be lucky enough to be able to work in our dream jobs but it is worth trying to find and then pursue our dreams!
