#1 Communication Expert: If You Get Anxious Around Other People WATCH THIS!

Video Overview & Insights

Do you feel like people often cut you off when you're talking?

really enjoyed it

— @muhammadjontolaganov8820

When was the last time someone really listened to you?

Today, Jay sits down with international keynote speaker and communication coach Vinh Giang for an inspiring conversation about building real confidence and finding your voice. Together, they dive into how the way we speak, and how we feel about speaking, isn’t something we’re born with, but a skill you build through experience, self-awareness, and practice.

Too much advertising, can’t process the content of this podcast!

— @SM-xs3yh

Vinh breaks down the myth that confident speakers are just born that way. Through his simple “four stages of competence” framework, he explains how with the right tools and consistent practice—anyone can become a powerful communicator, even if you’re naturally shy or introverted. It’s not about changing your personality; it’s about learning to manage your energy and use your voice with intention.

Throughout the episode, Vinh shares easy, practical tips, like how to stop people from interrupting you in meetings, how to sound more confident, and how to use your voice to its full potential. One of the most touching parts of the conversation is when Vinh opens up about his father, a refugee who didn’t understand his career choice at first, but later became his biggest supporter. It’s a reminder that communication isn’t just about being heard, it’s also about understanding, connecting, and growing in every part of life.

Thank you Jay for bringing Vinh he's really amazing i learned so much for you i could listen to him for houres ❤

In this interview, you'll learn:

How to Move from Shy to Confident with Communication

Such a great video as I’m beginning to realise how my poor communication skills have played a huge part in many issues over the last 15+ years of my life! 😅 but as a Christian I will add that although yes, I agree we must take responsibility for the things we are unaware of, having God at the centre of my life and relying on Him to reveal these flaws of mine gives me assurance that this is something I can overcome. But this video was very insightful in showing me how to do my part practically through what you could call rejection or failure “therapy” and also the recording myself exercise. would be interesting to hear you speak to someone like Allie Beth Stuckey about this topic.

lies - accents are the first lens people put on when they hear you speak. you need to work extra hard to engage your audiences when you have an accent. if Vinh never got rid of his accent no one will hire him as comms coach.

Thanks for the content ❤ so cool to see an Aussie getting interviewed!

I'm going to be applying the content to help my shy 8 year old to feel more heard, I just recorded his voice last night reading his readers. He feels like no one listens to him and everyone speaks over him, so excited to have some tools to help him overcome some of his fears around speaking around others!!

You feel shy because you practiced being shy for years.Thats basically how people live.I was full time mother with social anxiety. Micro steps made lots of chanting my life.I grew my confidence muscles from zero to now standing in front of 200+ students conducting and stopping e ams.Of course I feel nervous but I am able to be in the nervous situation even tho it’s feel uncomfortable.I learned to deal with it.Before I soy it even try thing because I would feel nervous. Now I feel nervous and I am able to function while I am nervous..The only way of changing your behaviour is trough doing things that are uncomfortable to you.

Hey Jay! What a great show. Thanks for sharing.
Here is my question for you:
How can I develop my self‑assertiveness? I’m really trying. But I only manage to do it once in a conversation, and if the other person keeps challenging me, I can’t hold my ground. I shut down and that’s it.

My coach says I have a natural talent for communicating but that my self‑assertiveness isn’t developed and that I lack confidence in myself. That I should be more confident because I m good... But how?How can I build my ability to assert myself, be more confident, without becoming rude? How can I feel confident that I’m right to assert myself in a situation I m not confortable into... and without slipping into defensiveness?

Wish you the best, and again, I really appreciate what you do to help me be a better version of myself

This gives me so much hope! I'm 34 and recently re-enrolled into university. It will take 3 more years and I know I will have to present my research in front of a comittee in 3 years to graduate. I am such a nervous and introverted speaker. I have failed several exams due to my speaking nerves. But this gives me hope that when I start training now, I could be half decent when time is due! 🙌🏻
