Choosing between them depends on the vehicle manufacturer’s recommendations, driving conditions, and climate, as using the wrong viscosity can affect engine wear, efficiency, and longevity.
I use Royal Purple 0w40 full synthetic oil in my 2004 Caddy SRX 4 4.6 Northstar V8, the gas milage is the same or better depending on how hard I drive. I find the 0w40 works a lot better then the Caddy recommended 0w30 Mobile 1.

I've never seen 5w30 used in hybrids. I hardly see it used at all in most American cars...even the big truck uses 0w20. Mazda uses 5w30 on their turbo models,but then 0w20 in their non turbo models

Qui in Europa è molto utilizzato lo 0W40. Ed i top sono proprio di origine americana credo (Mobil1 e Shell Helix Ultra)
In America le grandi scelte le fate sempre dallo 0W20 al 5W30.
Qui abbiamo molta più attenzione per l'olio dei motori, e in più si offrono vaste gamme di prodotti, ma anche di costruttori e motori con tanti requisiti di specifiche, oltre che di gradazione.
Non so dire dove sia il giusto!
