Came from the newsletter, Team Victor! He’s such a complex, morally grey character that it’s a struggle to like him but you understand him and still root for him even if you don’t agree with his actions.

Team Mitch! Seven years ago, I walked into the book shop and saw A Darker Shade of Magic and picked it up. Two weeks later, I went back in and picked up Gathering and Conjuring, as well as Vicious and Vengeful! Incredible to see the conclusion of these characters and to be blessed with VE's work practically every year!

Came from the newsletter! Team Victor, and with every video I finish from the readalong I'll mention something I liked in the villains universe or Victor 🤭. One of my fav thing among the many things I loved about this book is the concept of power. The power wasn’t just given to anyone, only a few people had it and literally all of them had a very interesting abilities. I also liked the way the abilities were used, and how each ability had its own pros and cons.

It’s been a hot minute since I read these, so my answer might change, but from what I remember I’m team Sydney (and also team Victor). I’m so excited to reread these books just as soon as I stop having other “required” book club reads!

It touched me how you were writing this for yourself and it ended up being so loved by so many despite all the doubts!

I hope you continue writing more books that make you feel in the future.

Because this book became my absolute favourite in no time.

The idea, the themes, the characters, everything is so lovely.

I can't tell you how many ppl I recommend Vicious to because god they're too many!

But I'll tell you a little secret, I acc used a quote of yours from Vicious (“safe” iykyk) in writing a letter for an adult who became my safe person too. And it deeply touched them.
So your work matters in so many ways truly! This book means a lot to me, and I love it so much!

TEAM VICTOR !!

I have lost count of how many people I have recommended this series to. Like you, I am an anime lover and have dabbled in the Marvel/DC universes. True super heroes always seemed fake and laking depth of character. I love the layers and complexities given to the "super heroes" in the Villians series. I am Team Victor with Mitch and Sydney so close behind, it should be a three-way tie. I will definitely be doing a re-read before Victorious is out! I can't wait :)
